2023 KTM 300 XC Dirt Motorcycle – Features and Specs

Engine

The new 300 cc 2-stroke powerhouse expands the arsenal options available in the Open class for racers seeking maximum power at the lowest possible weight. Pure performance, minimal maintenance expenses, and a mere 52.6 lb. engine weight are all 2023 KTM 300 XC features. It is the new cross-country kingpin thanks to cutting-edge technological advancements, including electronic fuel injection, electronic exhaust management, and e-start.

Cylinder

With its 72 mm bore, advanced electronic exhaust port control, and precision machined finish for precise port timing, the KTM 300 XC’s cylinder has a purpose beyond just holding the piston. Two distinct and configurable engine maps lead to much better rideability, engine control, and engine characteristic adjustment. Furthermore, it is auto-calibrating, eliminating the headache of incorrect power valve adjustments.

Cylinder Head

A new radiator hose with a visible water temperature sensor that shows the engine temperature at a glance to provide a rapid overview of the KTM 300 XC’s operating condition is connected to the cylinder head. The cast aluminum cylinder head’s noticeable indicator marks ensure precise reassembly after service.

Throttle Body

A significant improvement for the whole 2023 KTM XC series is the brand-new 39 mm throttle body. Using the knowledge gained from the 4-strokes, the throttle cable is placed directly without needing a throttle linkage, allowing for smoother, more unrestricted throttle action. The injectors are arranged in a double-injector pattern to guarantee the most efficient flow into the combustion chamber. It translates into higher power without causing a fuss and cleaner, smoother fuel ignition.

Crankcases

The primary design goals for the new KTM 300 XC engine were mass centralization and weight reduction. Because of this, the crankcases are made to hold the engine’s internal parts in the optimal location for a center of gravity while contributing the least amount of weight. The wall thickness of the casings is smaller but more consistent since a high-pressure die-cast manufacturing technique produces them. To top it off, the black powder-coated engine cover looks incredibly READY TO RACE, thanks to the KTM brand emblem.

Airbox

The air box’s strategically placed input ducts are intended to avoid air distortion and maximize filter protection and circulation. Removing the left side panel makes it simple to reach the air filter without the need for tools. The new Twin Air filter and an all-new filter cage design, which has a simple failsafe mounting method for precise and safe filter installation, ensures easy maintenance better than 2019 KTM 300 XC.

Frame

An entirely new frame design that is not only developed for longitudinal stiffness but also repositions spinning mass closer to the center of gravity to ensure that you maintain total control over even the most challenging course. Moreover, thicker frame walls provide unparalleled rider feel, flexibility, and dependability. The foot peg mounting location has been shifted inside to reduce the chance of hooking up on rocks or roots, and a redesigned shock mounting further improves anti-squat behavior for more excellent traction out of corners. Furthermore, the curved brackets on the lower frame rails simplify the skid plate installation.

Wheels and Tyres

These not only seem the role, but they also do it! GIANT’s lightweight, durable black alloy rims connect CNC-machined hubs with silver-anodized aluminum nipples and lightweight spokes. A new design of the spoke nipples lowers the frequency of spoke inspections and maintenance. At the front, a Dunlop GEOMAX MX-33F handles operations, while a GEOMAX AT81 completes the set.

Footrests

Designed with a greater contact area in mind, the all-new CFD footrests improve bike handling while standing on the pegs and reduce the likelihood of the footrests catching up on deep trail ruts, logs, and rocks. It was made possible by a new, slimmer frame mounting design contributing to weight reduction.

Swingarm

A brand-new hollow die-cast aluminum swingarm is designed to be as lightweight as possible while providing the best rigidity and dependability. Stiffness has been maximized by topology optimization, and weight is decreased by around 190 g thanks to an enhanced casting procedure. To accommodate the revised flex characteristics of the chassis, a new 22 mm rear axle has also been installed. It, combined with new chain gliders and a chain guard, improves longevity, reduces dirt buildup around the swing arm and chain guard, and lessens the possibility of snagging on boots or other trailside items.

Neken Handlebar

High-strength aluminum handlebars from NEKEN with a tapered design are standard on all KTM XC and XC-F models. The newly created KTM branded bar pad, which has the same design patterns as the frame protectors and tank spoilers, absorbs unintentional rider hits and provides the best control thanks to the exclusive KTM bend. Now that’s classy.

WP XACT Front Suspension

With its split damping function, the 48 mm air-type WP XACT front fork gives you the confidence to take on the trails. When hauling across the country, the new hydro stops in the fork legs reduce rebound and increase resistance to bottoming out. Fork protection rings have been redesigned to enhance their resistance to dirt, making them both dependable and fantastic.

WP XACT Rear Suspension

Maintaining the same suspension travel of 300 mm, the new rear shock design reduces overall length and weight compared to the previous version. A hand-adjustable dual compression control knob now handles adjustment, enabling rapid, tool-free adjustment of the high- and low-speed settings. It, together with the recently developed rebound and preload adjusters, allows riders to modify their shock settings independently of a technician in the pits without needing equipment.

Hydraulic Clutch

The superior Bemba hydraulic clutch system ensures flawless modulation, almost maintenance-free operation, and even wear under all circumstances. Play is continuously adjusted to maintain the same pressure point and clutch performer time in hot and cold environments. Numerous hours of testing with a race-focused concentration have shown the remarkable dependability of the premium, Italian-made Bemba hydraulic systems.

Fuel Tank

A brand-new 2.24-gallon polythene fuel tank with an integrated petrol pump and threaded filling cap. The fuel pump has an exterior fuel line positioned to minimize exposure and damage while maintaining a constant, continuous fuel delivery.

Functional Bodywork

The rider triangle on the 2023 KTM XC and XC-F series has been completely redesigned, offering better knee contact—particularly while standing on the pegs—and better gripping surfaces all around. In wet, muddy situations, new polymers help to remove mud accumulation, while the high-grip orange seat cover and flatter seat profile provide excellent rider mobility and control. Gripping and considerably simpler by a convenient hold pocket under the seat, just above the air box. The 2023 KTM XCdrewXC-F design drew inspiration from the early 1990s when purple was one of the brand’s primary colors.

Start/Stop Switch

All it takes to get the 2023 KTM 300 XC going is a button push. Actually! A new, high-quality stator and pickup with a highly durable construction, a start/stop button redesign, and an ultra-lightweight 12.8V 2 Ah lithium-ion battery beneath the rider’s seat, near the center of gravity all contribute to the bike’s lightning-rapid starts.
