The 250 cc 2-stroke cross-country class has been at the forefront of unadulterated performance for many years. Sweet-smelling 2-stroke exhaust, peak power bands, and rocket-ship acceleration characterize it. The 2023 KTM 250 XC Dirt Motorcycle brings this to an entirely new level, owing to a vast array of cutting-edge improvements. This 2-Stroke legend has improved for 2023, putting it even further ahead of the competition.

2023 KTM 250 XC Dirt Motorcycle – Features and Specs

Engine & Exhaust Engine

The 2023 KTM 250 XC Dirt Motorcycle is synonymous with unrivaled power and lightweight construction. The 2-Stroke motor’s simplicity and low maintenance cost have made it a favorite among serious cross-country racers for generations. For 2023, the KTM 250 XC will enter the pits with increased performance and an overall engine weight of only 52.6 lb. – with several ground-up engine enhancements to ensure that the KTM 250 XC engine maintains its status as the benchmark.

Throttle Body

A brand-new 39 mm throttle body is a significant update for the 2023 KTM XC lineup. The injectors are mounted in a double-injector pattern to ensure the most efficient passage into the combustion chamber. At the same time, the throttle cable is affixed directly without a throttle linkage for a smoother, unrestricted throttle action. It contributes to a cleaner, more efficient fuel ignition, as well as an increase in power with minimal effort.

Counter Balancer Shaft

Only positive energy! The 2023 KTM 250 XC Dirt Motorcycle has a laterally mounted counter balancer shaft that substantially reduces vibrations, resulting in a more comfortable and fatigue-free ride better than 2019 KTM 250 XC.

Exhaust

The 2023 KTM XC range’s header pipes provide extraordinary ground clearance for when the riding gets particularly difficult, while a compact, lightweight aluminum silencer provides the characteristic 2-Stroke soundtrack.

DDS Clutch

The 2023 KTM 250 XC Dirt Motorcycle is equipped with a DDS (Dampened Diaphragm Steel) clutch, which consists of a single-diaphragm steel pressure plate as opposed to conventional coil springs. It incorporates a damping system for enhanced durability and traction. The clutch basket is a solo-piece, CNC-machined steel component that was redesigned to accommodate the new transmission in 2023 and continues to permit thin steel casings that contribute to the engine’s compact design.

Airbox

The airbox has precisely positioned inlet passages to prevent air deformation, maximizing airflow and filtration protection. The air filter can be reached without using tools by removing the left side panel. The new twin Air filter and filter cage design, which features a simple fail-proof mounting system for safe and accurate filter installation, ensures straightforward maintenance.

Frame

Regardless of how treacherous the trail is, you will maintain complete control due to a brand-new frame design engineered for longitudinal rigidity and adjusting rotating mass slightly closer to the center of gravity. Additionally, thicker frame walls enhance durability, flex characteristics, and rider feel. A new shock mounting also improves anti-squat behavior for better corner exit traction. In contrast, the footpeg mounting position has been relocated inward to reduce the risk of snagging on roots or pebbles. In addition, incorporating forged brackets on the lower frame rails facilitates the skid plate’s installation.

Polyamide-Reinforced Aluminium Subframe

An all-new 2-piece polyamide (60%) reinforced aluminum (40%) subframe saves a remarkable amount of weight at only 4 pounds. With computational dynamics, the subframe’s rigidity was meticulously calculated, resulting in exceptional handling and feedback while remaining robust and dependable.

Wheels and Tyres

Not only do they look the part, they also play it! GIANT’s high-strength, lightweight alloy black rims are coupled to CNC-machined hubs using lightweight spokes and silver anodized aluminum nipples. The spoke nipples have been redesigned to reduce the frequency of spoke inspections and maintenance. A new Dunlop GEOMAX MX-33F takes care of business at the front, including a GEOMAX AT81 concluding the outfit.

Footrests

The brand-new, CFD-designed footrests provide a larger contact area for improved bike control while standing on the pedals but also make them less susceptible to catching on deep trail ruts, logs, and boulders. It was made possible by a new, slimmer frame mounting design, which also reduces the overall weight.

Swingarm

A new hollow, die-cast aluminum swing arm is intended to provide optimal rigidity and dependability at the lowest weight feasible. The topology has been optimized for rigidity, and an enhanced casting process has reduced the weight by about 190 grimes. In addition, a new 22 mm rear axle has been installed to match the chassis’ unique flex characteristics. It, along with a new chain guard and chain stabilizers, results in increased durability, decreased likelihood of snagging on footwear or other trail debris, and reduced grime buildup around the swing arm and chain guard.

Neken Handlebar

All KTM XC and XC-F models feature a tapered, high-strength aluminum handlebar by NEKEN. The exclusive KTM bend provides optimum control, while the newly designed KTM branded bar pad absorbs inadvertent rider impacts with the same design patterns as the frame protectors and tank spoilers – now that’s a touch of class.

WP XACT Front Suspension

A 48 mm air-type WP XACT front suspension with a divided adjustment function gives you the confidence to tackle the terrain. New hydro stops in the fork legs enhance bottoming-out resistance and account for less recoil when transporting across the country over significant obstacles. Redesigned fork protection rings improve grime protection, making them as dependable as they are impressive.

WP XACT Rear Suspension

A brand-new rear shock design reduces overall length and weight compared to the previous iteration while maintaining 300 mm of suspension travel. Adjustment is now handled by a hand-adjustable dual compression control knob, which enables fast, tool-free adjustment of high- and low-speed settings. Together with the redesigned rebound and preload adjusters, this allows motorcyclists to alter their shock settings without tools or assistance from a pit crew member.

Hydraulic Clutch

The high-performance Bemba hydraulic clutch system ensures uniform wear, virtually maintenance-free operation, and flawless modulation in all conditions. In other words, play is continuously compensated so that the overall pressure point and function of the clutch remain the same in chilly and heated conditions, as well as over time. Countless hours of race-concentrated testing have demonstrated the exceptional reliability of the high-quality, Italian-made Bemba hydraulic systems.

Fuel Tank

A new 2.24-gallon polythene fuel tank has a threaded refilling lid and a built-in fuel pump. The fuel pump has an external fuel line that is less exposed and susceptible to damage while assuring a constant, uninterrupted fuel flow.

Functional Bodywork

The KTM XC and XC-F models for 2023 feature an entirely new and improved rider triangle, which provides improved knee contact — particularly when standing on the pedals — and enhanced grasping surfaces all around. New polymers work to repel mud buildup in damp, marshy conditions, while a new, flatter seat profile and orange, high-grip seat cover offer exceptional rider movement and control. A convenient grasp compartment under the saddle, just above the air box, facilitates retaining and elevating the bicycle. The 2023 KTM XC and XC-F drew design cues from the early 1990s when purple was one of KTM’s most prominent colors.

Start/Stop Switch

The 2023 KTM 250 XC can be started by simply touching a switch. Quite literally! An ultra-lightweight 12.8V 2 Ah lithium-ion battery situated under the rider’s saddle, close to the center of gravity, a new high-quality stator and pickup, and a super-robust design, as well as an all-new start/stop switch design, enable lightning-quick beginnings.

Map Select Switch

Standard on the 2023 KTM 250 XC is a map select mechanism that allows the rider to alternate between two discernible engine maps. Map 1 delivers power in a linear, predictable manner, whereas Map 2 delivers precise, explosive power output.
