Indian Motorcycle, the first bike manufacturer in the United States, has announced reintroducing its ultra-premium Chieftain Elite model and releasing a new limited-edition model, the Indian Pursuit. Each Elite model is the pinnacle of American V-Twin elegance and exclusivity, and it all starts with quality components.

The Chieftain Elite’s new 10-spoke perfectly machined front wheel is on full display through its open fender, giving it an even more distinctive appearance. At night, the Chieftain Elite’s Adaptive Pathfinder LED headlamp and rear saddlebag LED lights make a statement with their eye-catching illumination. With a button on the handlebar, the rider may raise or lower the tinted flare windscreen to their chosen height.

The 116 V-Twin Makes 126 LB-FT In the Chieftain Elite
The Chieftain Elite looks like a beautiful bike, but it must also pack a powerful punch. Indian engineers saw the challenge and installed a V-twin engine with 116 cubic inches of displacement between the wheels: the Thunderstroke 116, a fitting name. The Thunderstroke is India’s most potent air-cooled engine to date, and its unique name reflects that fact. The motor produces a maximum of 126 ft-lb of torque at 3,000 RPM. The exact amount of horsepower it has is unknown, but it’s probably in the range of 120 hp at least.
Indian also included several convenience features in addition to its powerful engine. The rear cylinder deactivation feature of the Thunderstroke engine improves driving comfort in stop-and-go traffic. The rider may tailor their experience on the Chieftain Elite to their mood by choosing between Tour, Standard, and Sport driving modes. The selected driving mode modifies the bike’s responsiveness to the accelerator pedal. The Chieftain Elite has a front suspension travel of 64mm and a wheelbase of 65.8 inches. An adjustable air suspension is used at the back. Dual four-piston calipers grip the 19-inch front wheel, while a single two-piston caliper handles the 16-inch rear.

The Chieftain Elite’s degree of technology is comparable to that of a modern automobile. The bike’s instrument cluster consists of a traditional analog speedometer and tachometer that show the bike’s fuel level, its range, the bike’s odometer, and the current gear. That, however, is the last vestige of antiquated technology aboard the Chieftain Elite. There’s a seven-inch Ride Command-powered infotainment screen nestled in between the analog dials. Live traffic and weather updates, location-based services, car diagnostics, and more are all possible with this system. Systems like Apple Car Play, trip data, navigation, and Bluetooth take up much of the infotainment system.
The eight-speaker Powerband Audio system with the Chieftain Elite can be heard above the car’s engine and other road noise. The motorcycle has lighted switch cubes and is equipped with keyless ignition, anti-lock brakes and a tire pressure monitor.

The sophisticated golden detailing stands out the most. A striking green paint job and golden chrome accents make the Chieftain Elite stand out. The Thunderstroke 116 has bronze plating on its engine, exhaust, and other parts. The beautifully machined 10-spoke wheels are a nice touch, and the wide fenders round off the bike’s distinctive style. The two saddlebags of the Chieftain Elite are roomy and waterproof. These bags, which add to the bike’s luxury, may be secured and unlocked through the electronics console.
The Chieftain Elite is a limited-edition motorcycle, embodying the ethos that great luxury brings excellent rarity. Indian has set a worldwide manufacturing limit of 175 vehicles. The Challenger and the Pursuit, two further Indian Motorcycle models, have also been given the ‘Elite’ treatment and are now restricted to only 150 units worldwide. The Chieftain’s starting price of $35,499 reflects the vehicle’s high luxury and exclusivity. Ultimately, the motorcycle may be outfitted to cost well over $40,000. It’s not a terrible price for such a unique bike.
