Because of its upright sitting posture and basic, durable build, dual-sport bikes have long been a popular option among city commuters who need a bike that can handle the rigors of life in the concrete jungle. And this year, we are excited to unveil a bike that is nothing short of brilliant: the all-new CRF300LS. Our regular CRF300L was modified to have a lower seat height. It is perfect for shorter journeys on or off-road and for anybody who bikes in the city and often stops to put their feet down at parking lots and stoplights. The CRF300LS also has a unique paint job. The 2023 CRF300LS is an excellent choice for a street-legal trail bike with a more compact frame for commuting or other purposes.
The CRF300L has been the best-selling dual-sport motorbike for many years, and the CRF300LS will make it accessible to even more riders by lowering the seat height. With the LS model’s anti-lock braking system (ABS) and the normal-seat-height CRF300L’s comeback, both standard and ABS models provide low-cost transportation and make the thrill of dual-sport riding surprisingly accessible.
2023 Honda CRF300LS Dual Sports Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Single-Cylinder Engine
A single cylinder is ideal for a lightweight motorcycle like the CRF300LS. It is easy to operate, has few parts, and uses very little gas.
Double-Overhead-Cam Construction
Honda engines have traditionally been known for their high craftsmanship and reliability. One such example is the CRF300LS’s engine. The free-revving, super-efficient, and feature-packed double-overhead-cam design requires nothing in the way of upkeep.
Fuel Injection
Your bike’s fuel injection system will automatically adjust for high altitude or cold weather riding. Not only is it very effective, but it also prevents the carburetor jets from ever becoming clogged, even after extended storage periods.
Styling Lower Seating Position
We listened to feedback from riders and built the new CRF300LS with a lower seat height than the regular CRF300L. It is an intelligent pick for anybody who spends much time with their feet planted, such as in parking lots or at traffic signals, and for riders who are shorter than average.
Crf450r-Inspired Bodywork
Our CRF450R motocross motorcycles inspired the CRF300LS’s bodywork design and aesthetics. It is aesthetically pleasing and practical, thanks to the seamless integration of the bodywork pieces, tank, and seat that makes getting around the bike a breeze.
More Footroom
When wearing bulky off-road riding boots, you will appreciate the extra space provided by the engine’s and foot pegs’ relative placements in the chassis.
Polished Black Rims
The glossy black rims look excellent and are simple to maintain.
Engineering Engine Counterbalancer
The counterbalance makes the engine operate very quietly and smoothly. You may enjoy the smoothness of a multi-cylinder motorcycle, including the power and compact size of a single.
Integrated Rear Master Cylinder
We have included the reservoir for the rear brake fluid in the design of the master cylinder. Its sleek, compact, and tucked-in form makes it less vulnerable to harm when driven over rough terrain.
Large Sidestand Foot
The CRF300LS has a wide foot for use as a side stand. It may seem like an addition, but it will come in handy while going off-road or when parking in a hot asphalt lot.
Versatility Comfortable Seating Position
The brand-new long motocross-style seat allows for easy forward, left, backward, and proper movement, making it extremely comfortable to travel across varied terrain.
Cargo Convenience
Bungee cords and the included cargo hooks make securing a modest load to the passenger seat a breeze. It is yet another helpful addition that expands the bikes’ potential use. A safe compartment may be found on the left side for stowing away small objects.
Digital Instrumentation
The CRF300LS has an easy-to-read digital instrument cluster with big, legible numerals and gauges. The instrument cluster also has a tachometer, clock, and dual trip meter.
Passenger Ready
Each CRF300LS model has an extended seat, and fold-up passenger foot pegs affixed to the frame.
Handling Front and Rear Wheels
With a front wheel of 21 inches and a back wheel measuring 18 inches, you can equip your bike with tires suitable for rough off-road trails and smooth on-road travel.
Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes offer superior stopping power and braking feel for on- and off-road usage on the CRF300LS. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) are an available extra. The rear wheel ABS may be disabled for off-road use and quickly re-enabled for use on paved roads.
Inverted Fork
Large 43mm sliders may be found on the upside-down Showa® fork. That makes the CRF300LS sturdy and contributes to its stellar handling on and off the road.
Pro-Link Rear Suspension
The CRF300LS’s single-shock Pro-Link rear suspension contributes much to the bike’s high quality of life and the rider’s sense of security.
Strong Steel Frame
The steel frame is built to withstand the rigors of everyday use on the street or the trails. We have also improved the feedback you get from the frame by making it stiffer.
Styling
The CRF300L and CRF300L ABS are styled after the CRF Performance range, which includes the Baja-dominating CRF450X, with similar bodywork and red, white, black, and blue graphics. Swift Gray is a nice color for the CRF300LS model.
Riding posture
The riding posture of all three variants is comfortable and allows for easy control of the vehicle. Combining a swept handlebar and handlebar weights makes for effortless steering and a relaxed elbow posture. The back and center of the seat are broad for support, but the front is narrow so that the rider’s feet may quickly contact the ground when the vehicle is stopped. The CRF300LS model makes it even more convenient with its 32.7-inch seat height, 2 inches less than the conventional CRF300L. There are hooks for passengers to use.
Meter
The meter’s black lettering stands out well against the white backdrop, and the font size is generous. Functions such as gear position, fuel mileage, and gasoline consumption are included in addition to speed, clock, and rpm information.
Engine / Drivetrain
The size and stroke of the liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine plant are 76.0mm and 63.0mm, respectively, yielding a displacement of 286cc. The bottom and middle portions of the rev range, where the power production is highest, are heavily used for city riding and off-road travel.
The exhaust system provides low sound production while keeping vibrations to a minimum, and the big 38mm throttle body aids in achieving rider-friendly throttle control, particularly at low rpm. The engine’s rocker-arm valve train allows for a small cylinder head, and the counterbalance ensures a quiet and smooth ride.
Transmission
The six-speed gearbox strikes a perfect mix of suitable for city, long-distance, and off-road applications thanks to its tight spacing in the lower ratios and wide spacing in the upper gears, allowing for optimal gear selection while still permitting comfortable high-speed cruising.
Assist/slipper clutch
The CRF300L’s clutch lever pull is shallow because of this feature, and the bike also performs well while downshifting aggressively.
Chassis / Suspension
The overall vehicle weight is kept to a minimum using only high-quality components. For instance, the bottom triple clamp is made of aluminum rather than steel, which reduces the amount of effort required to steer and maintains a low center of gravity.
Frame / Swingarm
The frame’s weight was reduced by fine-tuning its primary components, and the bike’s maneuverability and rider feedback were improved by adjusting the bike’s lateral stiffness. The cradle tubes have a diameter of 25.4mm. In addition, it has an impressive 11.2 inches of ground clearance, making it less likely that you will hit anything when riding off-road. The swingarm is similarly tailored for lateral and torsional stiffness, and its total cross-section gives a consistent distribution of twists, leading to a pleasant riding experience and predictable handling. Because of its light construction, the swingarm provides responsive suspension.
Suspension
The Pro-Link® single-shock rear suspension works with the 43mm inverted Showa fork up front. The regular and ABS models of the CRF300L have front and rear suspension travel of 10.2 inches 9.3 inches and 9.0 inches, respectively, for exceptional performance (especially when riding off-road). In comparison, the CRF300LS has 9.3 and 9.0 inches of travel, respectively.
Wheels / Brakes
The new front wheels are 21 inches in diameter, and the rear wheels are 18 inches in diameter, much like those on high-performance off-road vehicles. The black metal wheels have been polished to a high sheen, making them attractive and practical. To reduce unsprung weight, the rear axle is hollow.
Both the front and rear brakes are hydraulic, with rotor sizes of 256mm and 220mm, respectively. The CRF300LS has anti-lock brakes (ABS) for safe stopping in various situations; the regular seat-height variant may be purchased with or without ABS. (Rear-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS) may be turned off for a more natural off-road experience.) The reservoir is built inside the rear brake master cylinder, much as on the CRF Performance series, providing a streamlined appearance.
Accessories
Hand guards, a skid plate, an electrical socket, more oversized footpegs, a top box, a rack, and more are some of the Honda Accessories that may be purchased.
