2023 Honda CRF250RX Dirt Motorcycle Review Specs Price

The 2023 Honda CRF250RX Dirt Motorcycle is a bike that combines the best of both worlds with motocross performance in a frame designed for desert races, endures, and technical trails. To what extent was it custom-made? Including modified engine settings, a bigger fuel tank, a side stand, handguards, and an 18-inch rear tire. The previous year, we upgraded this bike extensively, and ever since then, it has been winning a competition. A double-overhead-cam engine, fuel injection, an all-aluminum frame, and cutting-edge Showa suspension are just some characteristics that set the RX apart from the pure motocross CRF250R. It is the bike you want to ride if speed, accuracy, portability, and agility are paramount. The fact that it counts towards our Red Rider Rewards bonus structure just sweetens the deal.

2023 Honda CRF250RX Dirt Motorcycle – Features and Specs

Ride Easier and Faster

The CRF250RX currently shares the same chassis as the CRF450RX, built by HRC. The famed top-end power of its 249.9cc DOHC engine is supported by robust midrange torque and, now, even beefier bottom-end drive. In addition, it includes an 18-inch rear tire, a bigger fuel tank, knuckle protectors, and a side stand, as well as a revised steering geometry and Showa suspension re-set for usage outside the MX course. Therefore, this motorbike excels in situations when the road is harsh, tight, and complex and where larger motorcycles become challenging and just tire you out. The chassis finds all the grip it can, and the power delivery keeps you going ahead. And instructs you in its usage. It’s simple to go fast with the CRF250RX.

Performance Advantage

Passion for off-road riding. Your enthusiasm. You, some buddies, and a place to go, maybe simply on the weekend after a long week. Forest paths, deep muddy ruts, and steep ascents are all possible on the course. Perhaps that and more can happen in a single day. But the new CRF250RX was developed specifically for this purpose. With the help of its powerful engine, it finds the traction necessary up front and out back. The fact that it weighs next to nothing makes carrying it around all day a breeze. Not only is it a blast to ride, but an enduro racer, whether amateur or professional, can put its formidable qualities to good use because the CRF250R’s clean DNA makes this motorbike capable of facing challenges on any surface. They are alternatively known as performance boosts.

Engine / Drivetrain

The CRF250RX has a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, double-overhead camshaft, four-valve engine that produces 249cc of power and is known for its reliability and longevity. The air intake, valve timing, and exhaust port are all designed to maximize low-end torque, although robust top-end power is still available.

Intake

The air filter’s clean side has a lot of room because of the air box’s design. The throttle bore is 44 mm, and the lean angle of the fuel injector is 60 degrees so that the spray may reach the rear of the butterfly. To improve air intake efficiency and performance at low RPMs, these elements work together to cool the intake charge. The air filter’s spring-loaded clip design makes maintenance quick and simple.

Head

There are four titanium valves in the cylinder head, two each for the intake (33 mm) and exhaust (26 mm), with the intake valves having twin springs (one within the other) for smooth operation at high RPM. Press-fitting the intake camshaft sprocket improves valve timing precision and reduces unneeded weight.

Timing precision and low friction at high rpm are aided by the camshaft holder’s robust construction, which keeps camshaft journals round. High lubrication flow to the oil-supply journal and the cylinder head increases engine durability at high engine speeds. The compression ratio is 13.9:1, and the bore and stroke measure 79.0 mm and 50.9 mm, respectively. The thicker the water-pump gear, the more durable it will be.

The exhaust system has one straight outlet for high torque at low RPMs. The single muffler includes an internal baffling optimized for torque delivery, and the exhaust header is routed near the engine on the right side for a low cross-section and optimal rider mobility.

Electronics

The optimal air/fuel mixture and ignition timing are supplied by the ECU mapping over the whole throttle range and engine speed range. Wide shots are easier with launch control modeled after HRC.

Clutch The clutch pack uses nine discs, which both increases the total quantity of disc friction material and spreads out the pressure throughout the discs. Optimal lubrication and a sturdy clutch basket prolong the life of the clutch and cut down on wear. The main gear ratio is 3.047, and the clutch life has been extended by careful lubrication.

Transmission

Engineers attempted to improve the sensation of shifting between second and third gear, which often occurs on a 250 closed-course off-road bike. This gear change requires only one shift fork to be engaged, the countershaft is rather sturdy, and the shift drum is quite feathery due to its big through-hole and only two lead grooves.

Chassis / Suspension

The low total vehicle weight of the CRF250RX allows for more maneuverability, and it is well-known for its dependable tracking, accurate turning, exceptional straight-line stability, and general readability.

The vehicle has a 13.1-inch ground clearance, a seat height of 37.8 inches, a rake angle of 27.32 degrees, a trail of 115 millimeters, and a wheelbase of 58.1 inches.

Frame / Subframe

The lightweight aluminum frame features a tiny cross-sectional area, broadly curved primary spars, and strategically placed ribs in the pivot plate backs. Straight-line stability is achieved by maximizing longitudinal stiffness, whereas improved cornering handling is accomplished by increasing lateral rigidity. To save weight, the subframe has a minimalist design that doesn’t need dedicated seat support.

Suspension

The coil spring Showa fork has a leading axle diameter of 49 mm and an inverted telescopic length of 12.2 inches. Flex for handling and sensation around a corner is provided by optimized reinforcing ribs in both the upper and lower triple clamps. The bike boasts a nimble cornering approach and precise handling qualities, and it has good traction and bump-impact performance as well.

Right-side-adjustable Showa shocks are used in the Pro-Link® rear suspension system—12.3 inches of rear wheel travel. The swing arm is small and the shock spring is made of ultralight steel to allow for travel over ruts.

The black D.I.D wheels (21 inches up front, 18 inches in the back) are functional and aesthetically pleasing. Brake rotors in the shape of petals (260 mm up front, 240 mm in the back) efficiently distribute heat.

Dunlop Goma AT81 tires are standard equipment on the CRF250RX, and they provide superb all-around performance and high levels of toughness for off-road racing.

Design

The CRF250R is built with the rider in mind. The seat is designed with a flat surface and a seamless transition from the radiator shroud to the side panels. The rider’s body may be moved into optimal positions for turning, accelerating, leaping, and stopping, thanks to the bike’s user-friendly ergonomics.

Maintaining performance and engine life in the CRF250R depends on keeping the engine cool. Air-outlet vents in the shrouds and radiator grills with optimal numbers and fin orientations were designed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Instead of being made in two pieces, each radiator shroud is cast as an integral unit.

Acceleration forces hold the seat firmly in position while the base’s rearward-facing tongues and front-located mounting tabs make installation a breeze. The gasoline tank, which has 1.7 gallons, is built of titanium to save weight.

All of the major bodywork components (both radiator shrouds, both side plates, and the seat) are held together by only eight bolts, and all of these bolts have 8 mm heads to make servicing the vehicle easier.

There are four alternative mounting configurations for the Renthal® Fatbar® handlebar, within a width of 26 mm, due to the clamp’s ability to rotate through 180 degrees.
