2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide Cruisers Review Specs

The new Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine gives the new CVO Street Glide model its advanced technology, better riding comfort, and exciting performance. The Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring base has been updated with fresh styles that are both unique and eye-catching.

The new batwing covering on the 2023 CVO Street Glide model gives the bike an updated look, with a faster overall stance and a more swept windscreen. There are deeper cuts under the headlight, and the turn signals are built-in instead of being separate pieces. The famous “T” shape of the batwing fairing has been kept, but the form and graphic outline have been updated with new surfaces, and the new fairing fits in with the design of the fuel tank, side covers, and saddlebags. The “Omega-shaped” signature light makes it easy to spot the new model, and the turn signals are built into the left and right lamp parts so they don’t stand out.

CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 Engine drives it.

MILWAUKEE (June 7, 2023) – With the release of two high-end 2023 models from Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) in the middle of the year, Harley-Davidson improves the experience of riding a motorbike. The powerful new Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine is at the heart of the new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models. They have advanced technology, improved riding comfort, and exciting performance. The Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring base has been updated with new styles that are both unique and eye-catching.

Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President, and CEO of Harley-Davidson, said, “Our goal with the brand-new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models is to improve every aspect of the Grand American Touring motorcycle experience.” “These models set a new standard for Harley-Davidson in terms of performance, technology, and style. It speeds up the evolution of the most popular motorcycle brand in the world.”

Iconic Design, Redefined

The new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models have beautiful new designs based on the familiar shapes of older Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring bikes. Both types have fairings that have vents built in and LED signature lighting that has turn signs built-in. A trimmed front fender, a new 6-gallon fuel tank with a unique side angle, and saddlebags with a three-dimensional shape that matches the fairings and fuel tank are also part of the design. With a black machine-cut cast-aluminum rim and laced spokes, the new Combo Cast Laced wheels make a bold, unique statement. Each model will come in two finishes with a lot of detail.

Pinnacle Performance

The new 121-cubic-inch V-Twin Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine sets a new standard for factory-installed torque and displacement in a Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle. It has optimized liquid-cooled cylinder heads, a new cooling system, variable valve timing (VVT), a new intake tract, and a performance exhaust system.

When making the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models, every part of the design that could affect the general speed and comfort was carefully considered. The CVO Street Glide model is 31 pounds lighter than the model it replaces, and the CVO Road Glide model is 35 pounds lighter than the model it replaces. High-performance SHOWA front and rear suspension parts make the bike easy to control and make the rider much more comfortable than on previous CVO models. The back suspension movement has been increased by 50 percent. Premium Brembo brake parts have a great feel and work well, which gives riders more trust.

For the first time, the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models have three selectable Ride Modes: Road, Sport, and Rain. Each Ride Mode electronically controls a different combination of power delivery, engine braking, Cornering-Antilock Braking System (C-ABS), and Cornering-Traction Control System (C-TCS) settings.

New fairings with a “floating” windscreen design and changeable air-control vanes help with aerodynamics and heat comfort. When tested in a wind lab, emotional helmet buffeting is reduced by an average of 60% compared to 2022 models that are the same. The new engine cooling system will make the rider even more comfortable in hot weather than on earlier CVO models.

All-New Infotainment Powered by Skyline OS

The new Skyline OS powers a new set of entertainment features in the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models. The analog gauges and most of the keys have been replaced by a 12.3-inch TFT color touch screen. This high-end display can be set up in three different ways, and it works with both Apple and Android devices. The system is built with a Bluetooth sensor for wireless speakers and can link wirelessly to a rider’s device through Wi-Fi. Both types have more space for audio storage and a USB-C port for connecting. A new 500-watt RMS amplifier powers a luxury, high-performance four-speaker Harley-Davidson Audio driven by Rockford Fosgate Stage II audio system.

Saddlebags

The saddlebags add to the aggressive look of the CVO Street Glide by extending the bold lines and athletic shape of the helmet and fuel tank. They also increase the total amount of space for gear.

Paint and Finishes

Available in Dark Platinum with Bright Smoked Satin pin striping or in two-tone Whisky Neat and Raven Metallic with painted accents and pin striping. Each one has details that are either gloss black/chrome or burnt chrome. Together, they make a package that shows off the new body lines and shows how the CVO is all about paying attention to every little detail.

Flow State

Every feature of the CVO Street Glide has been rethought and improved, from the tip of the front fender to the end of the rear saddlebags. It creates a smooth visual flow from the front fender to the back saddlebags.

Signature LED Lighting

The full LED lighting package is seamlessly built into the design of the CVO Street Glide. It improves vision, integrates turn signals, and brings out the lines of the batwing frame, giving it a unique look that is easy to spot day or night.

Fuel Tank

The 6-gallon teardrop fuel tank on the CVO Street Glide is long and thin, with a customized shape and a clear beveled edge.

Wheels

The CVO Street Glide has cast-laced wheels that are 19″ in front and 18″ in the back. It also has a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Premium Audio

The CVO Street Glide has a Rockford Fosgate Stage II high-end audio system with a 4-channel, 500-watt RMS amplifier that drives integrated speakers in the tank and saddlebags.

12.3” TFT Display

The 12.3″ touch-screen color TFT display is the newest way for riders to stay connected. Its crystal-clear, anti-reflective surface replaces analog readings and puts guidance and entertainment at your fingers.

SKYLINE OS is a customized dashboard experience with three different display choices, mapping, and a brand-new set of linked entertainment features.

Ride Modes

Ride Modes use electronics to control how the vehicle performs and how much safety technology is used. Each of the three normal ride modes and the two that can be changed gives you a different mix of power delivery, engine stopping, Cornering Antilock containing System (C-ABS), and Cornering Traction Control System (C-TCS) options.

Rider Safety Enhancements

The system matched the motorbike’s performance to the available grip during acceleration, slowing, and stopping. It uses the latest chassis control, electronic brake control, and engine technology to give riders more trust when going on bad roads.

Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 Powertrain

The Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine is the most powerful transmission ever put on a Harley-Davidson Touring motorbike from the factory. It has liquid-cooled cylinder heads, variable valve timing (VVT), and a new intake tract. The larger size gives the engine more power and torque than the Milwaukee-Eight 117, and VVT makes the power band wider and more fuel efficient.

Exhaust

With its 4.5-inch-diameter mufflers and high-quality finishes, the high-flow exhaust system improves style and sound while boosting engine performance.

Weight Reduction

The 2023 CVO Street Glide is 31 pounds lighter than its predecessor. It makes it better in all ways, including how fast it goes and how well it stops.

Suspension

New upside-down 47mm SHOWA forks and quality shocks with 3 inches of suspension travel make the bike easier to handle and more comfortable for the rider.

Stopping Power

Dual 320mm diameter front disc brakes with radially placed four-piston Brembo calipers and a single four-piston Brembo caliper and 300mm diameter wheel in the back improve feel and total stopping performance.

Comfort in Cold Weather

The CVO Street Glide has heated grips and links for warm gear for cold days.

Rear Shocks

The new SHOWA remote-adjustable shocks have 50% more travel than their predecessors, which makes riding much more comfortable.

Aerodynamics

The new windscreen and fairing were made with the help of computational fluid dynamics and wind tunnel testing. The new windscreen and fairing help reduce wind buffeting and rider tiredness. Adjustable air vanes improve comfort by letting you tune airflow.

Ergonomics

A premium seat with a new shape, bigger, flatter handlebars, and movable levers all work together to improve the rider triangle, making long rides more comfortable and less tiring.
