The sportbike segment was utterly transformed when Suzuki released the first GSX-R750 in 1985. Later, the 2023 GSX-R600 Suzuki Sports Motorcycle continued the GSX-R bloodline. Suzuki has a long history of combining exceptional street manners with race-winning prowess, and the 2023 GSX-R600 Suzuki Sports Motorcycle is no exception.
When you twist the throttle, the GSX-R600’s four-cylinder, robust, compact engine responds quickly, and its incredibly well-tuned suspension and brakes offer precise, responsive handling that makes it one of the Most Selling Suzuki Bikes of all Times. The GSX-R’s distinctive bodywork looks fantastic in any of the three possible paint schemes, and its excellent ergonomics enhance control and comfort.
The 2023 GSX-R600 Suzuki Sports Motorcycle’s race-ready appearance is not artificial. Instead, it results from decades of production road racing dominance, which is still strong today. Riders looking for a mid-sized supersport bike on the road, racetrack, or home have only one option: the Suzuki GSX-R600.
2023 GSX-R600 Suzuki Sports Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Key Features
New color choices for the 2023 GSX-R600 Suzuki Sports Motorcycle include Glass Sparkle Black and Matte Mechanical Grey, Pearl Brilliant White, and Metallic Matte Stellar Blue. The 2023 GSX-R600 Suzuki Sports Motorcycle’s 599cc, four-cylinder, fuel-injected engine produces a burst of power from idle to redline. The top of the engine is moved forward to increase cylinder head charging for greater power output and is located between the frame spars. Ride Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS).

The chassis’ swingarm pivot section and steering head are efficiently connected to a twin-spar aluminum frame, which strikes a compromise between strength and lightweight. The engine is hung below the frame to maintain a low mass and short wheelbase for more agile handling.
The new Showa Big Piston Front Fork (BPF) and brand new Remote Reservoir Rear Shock Absorber are fully adjustable for outstanding handling. The radially mounted Twin Brembo monobloc front brake calipers provide strong stopping power, gripping fully floating stainless steel brake rotors.
Engine Features
A small 599cc four-cylinder engine with a race-proven over-square bore/stroke ratio produces surprisingly powerful power delivery at high rpms better than 2022 GSX-R600 Suzuki Sports Motorcycle. The power-driven engine uses forged pistons, shot-pence connecting rods, upper compression and oil control rings coated with chrome nitride, and pentagonal ventilation holes to minimize friction and mechanical losses.
For the first time, factory Suzuki camshafts are engineered with aggressive valve-lift profiles utilizing tried-and-true MotoGP racing engine technology. Single coil valve springs regulate the lightweight titanium alloy valves, reducing valve train mass and mechanical losses at high rpm.

The same Finite Element Method (FEM) and fatigue analysis techniques used for MotoGP racing engines were used to create lightweight and robust forged pistons. Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection uses eight fine-spray eight-hole injectors for better fuel atomization, promoting more complete combustion.
Advanced engine management and optimized settings for the intake and exhaust systems are provided by an Engine Control Module (ECM), which also improves fuel economy and throttle response linearity. Transistorized ignition control programming explicitly designed for MotoGP allows for more accurate spark timing to be maintained over a broad range of engine speeds and temperatures.
With the push of a button, the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) allows you to choose between two engine control maps tailored to your preferences and the demands of racing on the road or track.
A Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve mounted on a titanium muffler and four-into-one stainless steel exhaust system improves torque and throttle response, especially in the low-to-mid rpm range. With a high first-gear ratio and short ratios for second, third, fourth, and sixth gears, the close-ratio six-speed transmission facilitates a smooth start. It enhances acceleration in straight lines and cornering performance. A race-experienced back-torque-limiting clutch helps with smoother downshifting and corner entry.
Chassis Features
Five cast components comprise the lightweight and compact twin-spar aluminum alloy frame, balancing strength and lightweight. A cast aluminum swingarm and a multi-piece rear subframe designed for racetrack use are attached to the frame. The lightweight, race-engineered Showa Big Piston Front Fork (BPF) offers excellent feedback and reliable performance.
The single-shock rear shock absorber has externally adjustable rebound, compression damping, and ride height adjustment. At low speeds, the electronically controlled steering damper offers more damping force. At highway and racing speeds, it gives light steering. Brembo monobloc calipers with four pistons grip the radially floating 310 mm discs that make up the front brakes.
For precise handling, front and rear lightweight, high-grip tires are mounted on three-spoke cast aluminum alloy wheels. Adjustable footpegs with three settings, an adjustable shift lever, and a compact fuel tank all contribute to a comfortable riding position that allows the rider to move as needed for a high-performance ride.
The rider is alerted to specific shift points via a compact, lightweight instrument cluster with a built-in lap timer/stopwatch and customizable engine rpm indicators. Slim, uncomplicated, and light bodywork creates a dynamic, aerodynamic shape that’s genuinely effective at high speeds. A distinctive multi-reflector headlight with vertically stacked high—and low-beam halogen bulbs is centered between the position lights on each side. A clear lens LED tail light is solid and bright.
Rear turn signals are located in the rear tail area, while front turn signals are integrated into the rearview mirrors. The lightweight instruments also feature an LCD readout that displays the following information: clock, coolant temperature/oil pressure indicator, S-DMS, gear position indicator, analog tachometer, dual trip meter, reserve trip meter, and speed. A deliberately designed seat with a high-grip cover ensures rider comfort and confidence.
Additional Features
The fuel tank and fork upper brackets feature stylized Suzuki emblems and symbols that reflect the brand’s performance heritage, quality, and sophistication. An optional single-seat cowl can be used in place of the passenger seat for an even more aggressive appearance or use on solo tours or track days; for owners of GSX-Rs, a wide range of authentic Suzuki accessories are offered, including a wide variety of Suzuki branded clothing—twelve months of limited coverage. The extended warranty period and additional benefits are provided by Suzuki Extended Protection (SEP).
