The new 2022 YZ125 Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition Dirt Bike comes with a new rear rotor that keeps the same braking power while reducing the outer diameter from 245mm to 240mm, substantially lowering unsprung weight without sacrificing performance. A new flatter seat and narrower fuel tank design, together with seamlessly integrated body panels and a reduced shroud width, provide better forward and back movement, allowing the rider to shift body weight effortlessly for increased control and confidence. Front and rear suspension have been upgraded to improve bump absorption and cornering performance, taking the YZ125’s class-defining suspension and handling qualities to a new level.
The mid-speed valve on the KYB® inverted front fork now has a leaf spring for improved performance and comfort. For perfect ignition timing, the Hitachi Astemo® Keihin PWK38S carburetor has a power jet, throttle position sensor, and 3D-map-controlled CDI unit. Clean, sharp throttle response, enhanced rideability, and outstanding over-rev character are the results. The new intake design provides a more efficient and straighter airflow into the intake tract. The race-proven, highly developed aluminum semi-double-cradle frame is designed to provide the perfect balance of strength and flex for the seamless balance of stability and cornering performance. From the cylinder body, piston, cylinder head, piston pin, crankcase, connecting rod, and expansion chamber, to a revised cylinder port shape and updated cylinder port timing, nearly every functional part of the engine is new. YZ125 Monster Energy Yamaha has a new intake design that provides a more efficient and straighter airflow into the intake tract. YPVSTM is a patented acceleration system that blends sharp, hard-hitting bottom-end acceleration with excellent mid-range and top-end performance. For maximum performance, the revised six-speed close-ratio gearbox has greater transmission gear tooth width and new, optimized gear ratios. The digital CDI technology offers exact spark and continuously checks engine speed to ensure ideal timing for faster, stronger acceleration.
