An all-new 2022 YFZ450R SE Yamaha Sports Quad Bike is the most technologically advanced today. It has a high-tech quick-revving, titanium-valved 449cc fuel-injected engine, and a lightweight professional-caliber cast aluminum/steel chassis. The perfect combination of power and chassis makes for a championship-winning machine repeatedly. The YFZ450R SE is motocross ready. The weldless frame is lightweight aluminum and features a tension-steel bottom frame that allows the engine to sit lower for better mass centralization.
Suspension components and settings help reduce weight while still providing light, sharp handling and rider comfort. The bodywork is designed for excellent ergonomics and rider comfort with more room to hang off in the corners. The seat shape is amplified in just the right places while the body panels come off quickly without tools for service, so there’s no need to remove the battery or other components to take the fenders off. The 449cc engine employs titanium five-valve cylinder head technology to deliver abundant power from the mid-range to the top-end, with more “hit” feeling right off the start. The higher compression ratio improves overall engine performance even more.
An all-new Yamaha Fuel Injection (YFI) is used on the YFZ450R SE to ensure precise fuel delivery. This system provides exceptional fuel atomization for maximum power, thanks to a large 42mm Mikuni® throttle body and 12-hole injector. ISC – Idle Speed Control is also included for simple, dependable start-up and warming. An assist-and-slipper clutch reduces clutch lever effort, resulting in less fatigue while increasing clutch plate pressure that results in positive engagement. This clutch system also reduces the engine braking effect to allow for faster cornering, especially when downshifting with extras like the GYTR® front grab bar to match its unique graphics package. Engine
An all-new 2022 YFZ450R SE Yamaha Sports Quad Bike has a 449cc fuel-injected engine with excellent power characteristics. Power delivery is exceptionally smooth and strong off the line with plenty of mid-range and top-end power. The 449cc engine employs a five-valve cylinder head and titanium valve technology to deliver abundant energy from mid-range to top-end with more “hit” feeling right off idle. The high compression ratio improves engine performance even more. An all-new YFI – Yamaha Fuel Injection is used on the Yamaha YFZ450R SE to deliver precise fuel with a large 42mm of Mikuni throttle body and a 12-hole injector. An assist-and-slipper clutch reduces clutch lever effort that results in less fatigue while increasing clutch plate pressure that results in positive engagement. The crankcase houses a crankshaft ready to handle the racer’s increased demands and a counterbalancer to reduce vibration. The oil tank comes in the crankcase which helps to centralize mass for superior handling while making maintenance easier. Chassis/Suspension
The new 2022 YFZ450R SE Yamaha Sports Quad Bike has a body configuration that allows more fabulous room for the racer to move around during sports riding. To reduce fatigue, the new seat design is narrow in the front yet wide and padded in the rear. The wheels have been designed with the inner lip rolled in to increase rigidity that allowing for a decrease in weight while maintaining strength. Reels are set motocross-spec wide, near the allowable supreme of 50 inches for great cornering speed. Maxxis® tires give excellent handling and control. At 20-inch in the rear and 21-inch in the front, they offer better ground clearance than the competition.
The large-diameter tapered handlebar eliminates vibration and is supported by four-way clamps for maximum adjustability. The eccentric clamps and two holes in the handlebar crown allow the rider to select the standard-setting 10mm forward, 20mm ahead, or 10mm backward. Riders will appreciate the generous 2.6 inch-wide footpegs every time they want to get up on the pegs. Aluminum and steel are used to make the lightweight frame. The steel frame member beneath the engine is used for its strength and low profile that allow the engine to sit lower overall for excellent mass centralization and unrivaled handling. The bike is suitable for maximum durability. The motorcycle has an aluminum frame that is bolted together rather than welded.
At the A-arm mounting points, the front frame is as narrow as possible. It lengthens the A-arm and reduces camber changes as the suspension travels through its full range of motion. The new front KYB® shocks are longer for increased stroke, excellent bump absorption, and anti-bottoming characteristics. The KashimaTM coating provides smooth operation, and the 9.8-inch wheel travel means the racer is ready for the most challenging tracks. The bike is suitable for excellent handling. The rear swingarm is gravity-fed solid aluminum paired with a fully adjustable 46mm KYB piggyback shock. The rear wheel features 11 inches of travel for comfort even on rough terrain.
