This stunning new RS Thruxton model was influenced by Triumph’s illustrious racing past, which includes the introduction of “ton-up” cafe racers and the first production motorcycle to lap the Isle of Man TT at over 100 mph. The new 2022 Triumph Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition Motorcycle is a limited-edition model created to commemorate the passion and timeless design of the original record-breaking Thruxton. It was influenced by Malcolm Uphill’s 100 mph production lap of the Isle of Man TT in 1969 and the infamous Ton Up lads of the 1950s and 1960s.
2022 Triumph Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Unique Ton up Edition paint scheme and premium custom detailing
The new Ton Up Edition paint job is an excellent match for the Thruxton’s iconic café racer DNA and timeless elegance, combining a stunning and unmistakable Aegean Blue gas tank with Jet Black knee pad graphics, edged by hand-painted silver coach lining. There are new “100” graphics in Carnival Red on the Fusion White front mudguard and seat cowl. The seat’s cowl has been hand-painted with a sleek black coach lining as well.
Jet Black paint covers the headlamp bowl, rear mudguard, and side panels, where you’ll find the new Thruxton RS Ton Up logo. Additional high-end custom-inspired additions include matte aluminum silver fork guards, blacked-out wheels and engine covers, and RSU springs.
The Ton up Edition has all the hallmarks of the Thruxton RS, including the Monza-style gas filler cap, the brushed stainless steel twin upswept silencers, the single bullet seat, and the black bar-end mirrors.
With the new Aegean Blue cockpit fairing, riders have even more options for personalizing their Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition.
High-performance Thruxton RS engine
Powering the Thruxton RS Ton up Edition is the fast and dynamic Bonneville 1200cc twin engine, which generates 112 Nm of peak torque at just 4,250 rpm and 105 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm. Regarding performance, emissions, and fuel efficiency, the Thruxton RS engine checks all the boxes and is completely Euro-5 compliant.
The Thruxton’s sporty twin reverse cone megaphone silencers more than live up to their renowned name, producing a sound that is both thrilling and profound.
High-specification equipment for dynamic and engaging handling
The Thruxton RS Ton up Edition offers a light and agile chassis in addition to a sporty riding position and high-quality components. The bike’s fully adjustable Showa 43mm upside-down pig piston forks and Ohlins twin rear shocks with piggyback reservoir provide a plush ride and precise handling on the track.
The Thruxton RS has premium brakes all around. Up front are twin 310mm Brembo floating discs with Brembo M50 radial Monobloc calipers, and in the rear is a Nissin two-piston floating caliper.
Metzler Racetec RR tires, which offer superior grip for thrilling track days and furious road riding, are mounted and balanced as standard.
The Thruxton RS’s agile and entertaining ride comes from its low 810mm seat height, focused and athletic riding ergonomics, exciting 1200cc engine, high-spec dynamic chassis, and premium standard equipment.
Ride-Enhancing Technology Fitted as standard
The Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition is equipped with standard equipment, including anti-lock brakes (ABS) and switchable traction control, as well as three riding modes (Road, Rain, and Sport). Each one adjusts the settings for the vehicle’s traction control and throttle map to be more suitable for the current conditions or the individual rider. Ride-by-wire technology allows for this improvement in handling and throttle response.
A torque-assist clutch, which reduces fatigue, is only one of several ride-enhancing features. Others include an immobilizer and a USB charging port located under the seat.
With the bike’s integrated LED DRL, riders will be more visible on the road (market specific).
80+ Custom Accessories
Like previous Triumph Modern Classics, the Thruxton RS was designed with customization in mind, and it comes with more than eighty genuine Triumph accessories. Included are luxuries like the brand-new Aegean Blue cockpit fairing, clip-on handlebars, heated grips, and luggage.
All genuine Triumph parts and accessories are designed in collaboration with the motorbike and must pass the same stringent quality and durability tests. Therefore, the same two-year, unlimited-mileage warranty that applies to the bike also applies to all of the accessories.
