2022 Triumph Street Triple R Low Roadster – Features and Specs
Category-defining from the very beginning
The 765cc Street Triple line-up redefined the middleweight sports category in 2017 with its blend of aggressive styling, light, intuitive handling, exhilarating 765cc performance, and its distinctive triple soundtrack. Since its introduction back in 2007, the Street Triple has significantly influenced the motorcycle industry because of its unique personality and exhilarating triple engine. It is light, quick, entertaining, elegant, and stylish.
The acclaimed Street Triple R is now even more aggressive, responsive, and approachable for all riders for 2022.
Much more aggressive attitude, poise, and style
The new Street Triple R boasts all-new bodywork, including a fly screen, air intake, side panels, and rear unit, and takes after the aggressive new attitude and design of the top-specified RS model. These have a sportier, more angular appearance, giving the motorbike cleaner, more modern lines, and a standout new impression.
The new dual LED headlights feature a stunning new look with prominent position lights that mimic the curve of the fly screen and air intake, providing the front end with a considerably more distinct appearance and improving visibility.
The sleek, aggressive styling of the Street Triple R is further enhanced by the compact, modern silencer and the new, more adjustable mirror shapes. Two fresh paint and graphic combinations—Sapphire Black or Matt Silver Ice—are now available. Both paint jobs include hand-painted red wheel pinstripes, Diablo Red and Aluminum Silver decals, and the unique Street Triple R red rear sub-frame.
More responsive high-performance 765cc engine
The Street Triple R’s distinctive 765cc engine has been updated for Euro 5 compliance while maintaining its well-known, class-defining performance. It is now even more responsive thanks to a 7% decrease in rotational inertia. It creates a genuinely addicting ride with excellent low-down and mid-range helpful torque. The Street Triple R also produces a thrilling peak torque of 77Nm at 9,400 rpm and tremendous peak power of 118PS at 12,000 rpm.
This new generation’s air box and exhaust system improvements, which comply with Euro 5 rules, provide a more precise, purer sound with an even more recognizable tone. The balance between the intake and silencer sounds in this magnificent deep, rich Triumph triple roar has improved.
The Street Triple R sports a smooth transmission with short first and second-gear ratios, much like the top-spec RS model, giving superb acceleration performance and seamless gear changes. It also has a slip-and-assist clutch, which lessens the effort required to use the clutch lever and enhances rider comfort and control.
The high specification of equipment
The new Street Triple R, renowned for its precise, quick, and neutral handling setup, now has brakes adjusted for exceptional stopping power. These Brembo M4.32 four-piston radial monobloc front calipers have a high level of specification and an enhanced brake pad compound for a better ride and feel. The Street Triple R has a Brembo single-piston sliding caliper at the back.
With Showa 41mm separate upside-down function massive piston forks and the brand new Showa piggyback reservoir monoshock RSU, the suspension is likewise of the highest caliber. Both have complete preload, compression damping and rebound damping adjustments.
The tires are Pirelli’s all-weather, road-focused Diablo Rosso III tires, which provide long-lasting, reliable performance over time. The new Street Triple R has a sportier feel thanks to its shape and construction, and they offer excellent cornering grip and stability.
The gullwing rear swing arm provides torsional rigidity and lateral flexibility for optimal high-speed stability, and an adjusted pivot point naturally resists compressing the RSU during vigorous acceleration. It makes it possible for accurate chassis behavior and tight corner exits.
As a result of customer input, the 2022 Triumph Street Triple R Low Roadster now has the Triumph Shift Assist up-and-down quick shifter installed as standard, offering real road and track capabilities. While keeping the accelerator in place, the Triumph Shift Assist allows rapid, comfortable, and seamless gear changes without needing a clutch.
Additionally, there are three riding modes—Road, Rain, and Sport—for optimal control. These are conveniently changeable while riding through the Street Triple R’s LCD instruments and alter the traction control and throttle response settings. Peak power is capped at 100PS in rain mode for improved ride quality.
Ride-by-wire, ABS, and traction control are the Street Triple R’s technological specifications.
