A new statement in beauty, sophistication, and attitude
Triumph’s latest contemporary roadster icon, the Speed Triple 1200 RR, reaches a unique design and styling apex. The RR’s new appearance is clean and fluid, with a more sports-oriented, nose-down riding posture and profile.
The striking new cockpit fairing, shaped to include the signature-RR single round headlamp set-up, makes the bike more distinctive and fashionable than ever. To maintain the sleek appearance of the cockpit, all of the wiring and tubing that control the gorgeous machine has been carefully concealed.
The RR’s new carbon fiber infill panels, the new carbon fiber side panels and the finely built front mudguard elevate the bike to exquisite craftsmanship.
The Red Hopper and Storm Grey color scheme and the Crystal White and Storm Grey color scheme with premium gold details look amazing on this new model. Both designs have a color-matched belly pan and seat cowl that is included with the pillion seat and can easily be swapped out.
The most focused and exhilarating Speed Triple ride ever
Built on a cast aluminum frame that is both lightweight and compact, the new Speed Triple RR is capable of the same remarkable agility and pinpoint precision handling as the 765 Street Triple RS while still boasting the power and swagger of the current generation of Speed motorcycles. With updated ergonomics and cutting-edge track-derived technology, the new RR raises the bar even further, giving it the most exciting and sport-focused Speed Triple ride yet.
The new RR’s commanding new rider-ergonomics provide an exciting and comfortable ride. Changes include a redesigned foot peg location and clip-on handlebars that are 135mm lower and 50mm more front than the Speed Triple 1200 RS. The new RR’s ergonomic design prioritizes rider comfort and control, with features like an easily reached 830mm seat height, a slim tank, and a carefully sculpted seat profile.
The RR’s sporty character is highlighted by the high quality of its standard features. The new electronically adjustable, semi-active front and rear suspension from lines, the Smart EC 2.0, plays a crucial role in this. The RR’s unique geometry required a revolutionary suspension system that could provide the best possible performance, comfort, and control. A highly-advanced suspension control unit constantly monitors input such as riding style, speed, and acceleration to automatically modify both compression and rebound damping in response to the rider’s input as shown on the TFT instruments, which are entirely adjustable even while riding.
Track-specific dual Brembo Stylema® monobloc front calipers and 320mm floating front discs further improve the stopping power of the Speed Triple 1200 RR. Brembo’s adjustable front brake lever provides the rider various ergonomic options, including span and ratio adjustments. A Brembo twin-piston caliper and 220mm single disc provide stopping power in the trunk.
The RR’s 17-inch cast aluminum wheels are among the lightest in the industry, and they come with the brand-new high-performance Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tires. The Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC2 V3 is a certified track-only specification for those who want to narrow their attention even more.
The current generation’s whole triple-powered performance revolution
The 1160cc triple engine that drives the Speed Triple RR is the same lightweight, economic, and high-performance engine that powers the RS model.
The powertrain’s peak power of 180PS is achieved at 10,750rpm, while its peak torque of 125Nm is achieved at 9,000rpm, both of which are excellent. In addition, fantastic energy and acceleration are available over the whole rpm range, from low to high, as is typical of Triumph triple engines. The low-inertia engine allows lightning-fast reactions and a smooth, accurate driving experience.
The 6-speed stacking gearbox is lightweight and compact, with a ratio progression tuned to match the power curve for silky smooth shifts. By adding to the force of the clutch springs while the clutch is under stress, the lightweight slip-and-assist grip can transfer more power from the engine to the gearbox. When downshifting forcefully, however, it is preferable to allow some clutch slip to increase rear-wheel traction.
For a thrilling and exciting ride, turn to the Speed Triple’s characteristic sound, produced by the side-mounted, brushed stainless steel single silencer with a black end cap.
All of the latest generation’s premium specification technology
The RR, like the Speed Triple 1200 RS, includes an array of advanced rider aids, electronics, and convenience options meant not only to make riding more straightforward and safer but also to provide a unique configuration for various types of rides.
The 5″ color TFT instruments highlight the high-end features, and the My Triumph communication system is included as standard equipment. It is compatible with Android and iOS, allowing for hands-free phone calls and music control, as well as turn-by-turn navigation (created in conjunction with Google) and GoPro management. Everything is easily accessible through the illuminated switch cubes and presented on the TFT screen with low reflections thanks to the optical bonding. The track-ready lap timer is integrated into the user-friendly interface, allowing for instantaneous tweaking of several parameters.
The RR includes Triumph’s cutting-edge cornering tuned ABS and traction control system, which can be toggled on and off. These use an inertial measurement unit to track the rider’s roll, pitch, yaw, and acceleration rates, allowing them to accurately determine the lean angle and fine-tune the reaction of the anti-lock brakes and traction control systems.
The front wheel lift detection system employs sophisticated algorithms to provide accurate control and is linked to the vehicle’s traction control system.
The new RR boasts five different riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport, Rider-configurable, and Track, which limits the involvement of the ABS and traction control systems. Selecting and adjusting the riding modes’ various intervention levels is done using the TFT instruments.
The Triumph Shift Assist up-and-down quick shifter is another crucial element for road and track usage that was created thanks to Triumph’s experience in the World Moto2TM competition. Gear changes up and down may be mapped entirely against various factors, much as the Moto2TM racing teams do, thanks to the high-tech sensor that provides a plethora of information to the engine management unit.
To facilitate an upshift, the Triumph Shift Assist modifies engine parameters like ignition timing, fuel ratio, and throttle opening. It is not your grandfather’s quick shifter, which just shuts off the engine. Once again, the system ensures a seamless downshift by monitoring and adjusting several parameters, including the throttle blips.
LEDs are used everywhere for their long life and high efficiency. Where regulations allow it, the new single-round headlight also functions as a daytime running light. The tail unit has a distinctive rear light with its light signature and LED self-canceling indicators.
Other ride-improving features on the new Speed Triple 1200 RR include an adjustable cruise control system and a keyless system that operates the ignition, steering lock, and fuel filler lid.
