2022 Suzuki Boulevard C50T Touring Bike – Features and Specs
Key Features
Sparkling Pearl, the white paint and subtle blue logos on the Boulevard perfectly complement its classic design, windscreen, studded leather-textured seats, and matching saddlebags.
Over dual pipes, a 45-degree, 50-cubic-inch (805-cc) V-twin engine that is at home in the city or on the open road quietly produces power. With a delicate pull, the clutch transmits engine power to the smoothly shifting five-speed gearbox and, from there, to the spotless shaft drive.
Behind a traditionally styled windscreen, riders perch on a cushioned, studded seat barely 27.6 inches from the ground while holding on to wide, buckhorn-style handlebars and resting their feet on forward-mounted floorboards. The Boulevard C50T accommodates riders with a passenger seat that is thick enough to increase the rider’s over-the-shoulder visibility.
Massive valance fenders conceal 15-inch rear and 16-inch front whitewall tires attached on spoke-style chrome wheels, which go well with the classic 4.1-gallon gasoline tank. Brushed stainless steel covers shield the bike’s strong front fork, and a hidden, link-style rear shock softens the ride to fit the bike’s classic hard-tail form. The chrome rims and wide, spoked tires seem retro, yet they provide modern performance.
Engine Features
The tiny 805cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC, four-valve-per-cylinder, 45-degree V-twin engine is tuned for fuel injection to provide exceptional low-rpm torque. The polished aluminum and chrome covers of the sculpted engine are an excellent complement to the visually striking cylinders with symmetrical cooling fins. Because of the offset crankpins, the firing intervals are correctly balanced, creating the characteristic V-twin rumble.
The Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) electronic fuel-injection system maintains the optimum air velocity in the intake tract, allowing for a smooth throttle response from low to mid rpm. The Auto Fast Idle System (AFIS) monitors the engine coolant temperature and opens the throttle valve accordingly during cold engine starts. The massive V-signature twin’s low-down torque is improved by modern 3D-mapped digital ignition technology that uses a throttle-position sensor.
The chromed and staggered dual exhaust system on the right side of the engine produces a deep, rumbling exhaust sound. A high fifth-gear ratio in a five-speed broad-ratio gearbox makes for relaxed freeway cruising. The enormous 15-inch rear tire receives power efficiently with minimum torque response from the smooth-running, low-maintenance shaft drive.
Chassis Features
The chassis is held by a robust double-cradle steel frame, making it ideal for cruising or a long ride. The Boulevard takes many traditional design influences, including its excellent paint job, gleaming chrome, and ample front and rear fenders with sculpted ends.
The height-adjustable, vintage-style windshield provides complete protection from the elements, and it can be removed in a snap. Its chrome garnish bears the unmistakable Boulevard logo. Saddlebags include many compartments, a leather feel, a Boulevard logo, and a twist-lock closing.
The rear suspension is link-type, designed to look like the hard-tail of a vintage cruiser, and connects a truss-style swing arm to a single shock absorber with seven-way spring preload adjustment. With this setup, you get a responsive 4.1 inches of suspension travel. The ample 65.2-inch wheelbase and kicked-out 33-degree rake provide for a comfortable ride. Strong telescoping front forks smooth down the wheel travel to the tune of 5.5 inches.
The broad handlebars, forward-mounted floorboards, and leather-textured, studded seats provide a comfortable ride both in town and on the highway. Large 15-inch rear and 16-inch front tires with wide white sidewalls are mounted on shiny spoked rims for that classic cruiser look. Solid and reliable brakes are provided by both the rear drum brakes and the front hydraulic disc brakes. The low 27.6-inch height on the vast, heavily cushioned seat with multicolored studs is great for unhurried driving and sure stops.
The spacious passenger seat with studs is excellent for long trips with friends or family. Its stepped location on the rear fender enables passengers a view over the rider’s shoulder. The combination of a powerful multi-reflector headlight with a tiny, efficient LED tail light makes for a formidable lighting setup.
