Montesa, which has a history that is as long as Honda’s, celebrates its 75th anniversary with a limited-edition model of their elite trials vehicle that features a brand-new design. The 2022 Montesa Cota 301RR Honda Dirt Bike, produced in the trials capital of Barcelona, Spain, now sports a red fuel tank in homage to early Montesa models and a gold “75th Anniversary” symbol on the fuel-tank cover and fork legs. This model is geared at racing and borrows many parts and technological innovations from Toni Bou’s 28-time FIM World Champion motorcycle. It also has an advanced Tech fork with aluminum stanchions and a solid yet maneuverable 299cc four-stroke engine.
Trials riders are a special kind of motorcycle rider. Although many riders dabble in it, to be genuinely outstanding, you need ability, discipline, and the correct equipment. We’re thrilled to offer the Montesa Cota 301RR—a bike that blends Honda’s illustrious engineering and quality with Montesa’s famed trials expertise—to trials riders who want the finest. Along with its quality suspension, 298cc liquid-cooled four-stroke Honda engine, and custom graphics and color scheme honoring Montesa’s recent 75th anniversary, the 2021 Montesa Cota 301RR is exceptional.
2022 Montesa Cota 301RR Honda Dirt Bike – Features and Specs
Engine / Drivetrain
The Trial2 World Championship’s maximum displacement is 298cc, with a bore and stroke measurement of 81.5 mm and 57.2 mm, respectively. With the abrupt acceleration bursts typical of trial riding, power is skewed to the low and middle for the smooth, tractable delivery essential for keeping traction in tricky circumstances. Yet Vibration is reduced by the three-ring piston and the specifically made crankshaft. Electronic fuel injection that is programmed for smooth operation under various circumstances. For optimal torque across the rpm range, a lightweight aluminum muffler with a big inner tube and considerable overall volume is recommended. For protection, a carbon fiber exhaust shield is used. On the right side of its engine, the guard made of lightweight yet durable carbon fiber shields the clutch. With its large, 2.3 mm crankcase breather tube, the decompression system reduces engine braking and aids in maintaining traction when decelerating.
Chassis / Suspension
The aluminum stanchions of the 39 mm Formula Tech fork contribute to its reduced weight. The Pro-Link® rear suspension system absorbs the roughest difficulties in the trial portions with a single Showa shock. For Swing arm and frame are made of lightweight aluminum for agile handling. Yet Hubs made of aluminum reduce unsprung weight for simple steering and consistent handling. And Front and rear rotors have a petal-like design for the best modulation and braking. Powerful and reliable braking is provided by a four-piston front caliper, which is shielded by plastic. The engine is protected from strikes with pebbles, which are a frequent occurrence in trials, by a large aluminum skid plate with a rubber cushion. While waiting for their time to enter a segment, the rider may conveniently store their bike using an aluminum side stand. Tank made of aluminum. To better shield the rider from mud and water in transfer portions, the rear fender widens towards the end. A minimalist LED headlight provides additional illumination at night (not road legal).
