For the 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary Urban Motorcycle and Z900RS, a unique method of painting was created to mimic the original Z1’s classic “fireball” design. The lovely colors of the tank and bodywork are coated in layers to make a full, shiny texture that complements the natural appeal of the machines. Both vehicles have golden wheels and “double overhead camshaft” badges, while the “Z 50th” logo is prominently displayed on the top of the tank.

Kawasaki celebrates the Anniversary of Its popular and Iconic Z Brand, including the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Z900, Z650, Z900RS, and Z650RS Motorcycles.
The Z50th Anniversary Z900, Z650 Z900RS, and Z650RS are four new exclusive birthday models added to Kawasaki’s 2022 motorcycle portfolio, breaking the company’s tradition of producing bikes with unparalleled performance, enthusiasm, and superb style.
Z appears as the last letter in the alphabet, so the famous Kawasaki super4 900 was named Z1 in 1972. Since then, the Z position has been used for several Kawasaki models designed to be the largest. Motorcycles in their respective categories. By introducing the Sugomi style in the Z1000 in 2014, the Z took the next step in sprinkled performance and design.
DOHC engine with 649cc twin-cylinder capacity
They are designed to produce strong, smooth, and responsive power, especially in the low to medium range, for the appropriate power characteristics for the rider that affect control and confidence in various riding conditions.
Optimized intake port design also helps to increase low and medium responsiveness and efficiency. The camshaft has a short working angle and valve overlap for maximum performance in the common to medium range. A smaller airbox contributes to the overall slimmer design of the motorcycle and improves the sense of power over short and medium distances. The exhaust system has a succinct header to increase top and control, while the internal structure of the smooth muffler improves power distribution from low to medium distance.
Digital Fuel Injection (KP)
Keihin throttle bodies with dual throttle valves (KP) contribute to powerful low to mid-range power for maximum performance and riding ability. The ECU controls the sub-throttle, located behind the main throttle valves, to ensure that the throttle response in the DFI® system is correct.
Ex-precise fuel delivery with fine atomizing injectors and exhaust catalysts greatly reduces emissions and simplifies automatic high-speed idle system start-up and warm-up.
6-Speed Transmission
Positive Neutral Finder is a special user-friendly function for Kawasaki that allows the rider to move quickly from first gear to neutral just by stopping the bike.
Horizontal Back-link Rear Suspension
The rear shock is further away from the exhaust so that its operation is not affected by the exhaust heat. The connection is moved over the swing arm to help make room for the under-engine muffler for greater centralization.
Assist & Slipper Clutch
The clutch hub and pressure plate are pressed together during acceleration using the rotating forces, which allow low and light clutch springs for a light feeling on the lever. The sleeper feature allows some new clutches to slip in high backlight conditions, such as when a low gear is selected, to help minimize engine lock-up and stalling, and rear-wheel hop. Û”
Spoke-Style Cast Wheels
The flat spokes on the original cast wheels resemble traditional wire wheels. The wheels, designed using Kawasaki’s advanced analytics technology, offer a combination of lightweight and elegance, enhancing both the handling and retro style design.
Relaxed Riding Position
The rider is in a natural, comfortable posture with a wide, flat handlebar and comfortable riding stand, which helps build confidence in the wide field of riders. The wide, flat handlebar enhances the classic game look while providing a wide grip for better handling. The triple upper clamp is 20mm higher than the Z650, giving the handlebar height and a more upright ride. The handle grip is 50 mm higher than the Z650 and 30 mm rear (closer to the rider). A wide 35 steering angle supports low-speed handling.
Modern Retro Styling
The spherical LED headlight emits a bright, white light and combines classic and current styles. It has two chambers, one for the low beam and the other for the high beam; both have position lights that guarantee that the entire lamp is lit, like the headlights of a retro-style bulb. The wide headlight ring has a groove pattern that gives a modern touch. To emphasize the modest size of the tank, the retro-style petrol tank design uses borders to divide the top and sides. The simple design of the side cover contributes to the current throwback look.
Dual-Dial Instrumentation with Multi-Function LCD
A multi-functional LCD panel complements the analog-style speedometer and tachometer dials, combining retro-style appearance with modern functionality.
The vintage shape is enhanced with a tablet-shaped dial casing, while the current typography on dial faces adds a modern touch. The sporty, modern instrument cluster design is enhanced by the white characters of the LCD screen on a dark background. Gear position indication improves shifting accuracy and reliability.
