Kawasaki Celebrates the Anniversary of the famous Z Brand, including the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Z900, Z650, Z900RS, and Z650RS Motorcycles.
The Z50th Anniversary Z900, Z650 Z900RS, and Z650RS are four new exclusive birthday models added to Kawasaki’s 2022 motorcycle portfolio, the company’s tradition of producing bikes with unmatched performance, enthusiasm, and unparalleled style.
The famous Kawasaki super 900 was named Z1 in 1972 because it is the last letter in the alphabet and symbolizes the final. Since then, the Z designation has been used for some Kawasaki models designed to be the best motorcycle in their respective categories. By introducing the Sugomi style in the Z1000 in 2014, the Z took the next step in sprinkled performance and design. The Kawasaki Z motorcycle line has become one of Kawasaki’s most important motorcycle brands.
DOHC engine with 649cc twin-cylinder capacity
Designed to produce strong, smooth, and responsive power, especially in the low to medium range, for the appropriate power characteristics for the rider that affect control and confidence in various riding conditions. Û”
Optimized intake port design also helps to increase low and medium responsiveness and efficiency. The camshaft has a short working angle and valve overlap for maximum performance in the common to medium range.
The small airbox contributes to the overall slimmer design of the bike and improves the sense of power over short and medium distances. The exhaust system has a succinct header to increase top and control, while the internal structure of the smooth muffler improves power distribution from low to medium distance.
Assist & Slipper Clutch
The clutch is pushed together during acceleration by using the rotating forces of the brand-new clutch hub and pressure plate, enabling low and light clutch springs for a lenient feeling on the lever. The new sleeper function allows some clutches to slip during high back-torque conditions, such as when the low gear is selected, to help the engine lock up and stall, as well as prevent rear-wheel hop. The engine is tiny from front to rear due to the triangular crank and transmission shaft layout, a semi-dry sump (KP) oil system, and the narrow pitch of the new chrome composite (KP) plated aluminum cylinder.
Digital Fuel Injection(KP)
Keihin throttle bodies with dual throttle valves (KP) contribute to powerful low to mid-range power for maximum performance and riding ability. The ECU controls the sub-throttle, located behind the main throttle valves, to ensure that the throttle response in the DFI® system is correct.
Ex-precise fuel delivery with fine atomizing injectors and exhaust catalysts greatly reduces emissions and simplifies automatic high-speed idle system start-up and warm-up.
Wheels and Tires
The sporty five-spoke wheel design helps lightweight, vibrant aspects. Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires help in light handling.
Streetfighter Cockpit
Low front foot peg positioning helps keep the rider’s knees free for greater comfort and simplicity of operation. A slightly forward handlebar position provides sports riding capability. The gasoline tank is mounted on the bottom of the chassis, and its slim shape helps to reach the ground and builds the confidence of the riders. For a more elegant look, the resin-designed fuel cap avoids the presence of mounting bolts.
Strong Sugomi Styling
The Z650 has a powerful Sugomi presence thanks to its sharp, compact cowl and muscular-looking radiator shrouds. Sugomi is a Japanese term referring to the powerful glow or energy that emanates from a person or object of greatness and is perceived by the beholder. Sugomi is a virtue that creates fear, gives a lasting impression, is intimidating in stature or skill, and commands respect in something or other.
At the central level, LED position lighting complements a small LED headlamp. The design of the headlights is highlighted with sharp edges.
TFT Color Instrumentation
Thanks to the all-digital 4.3-inch TFT (thin film transistor) color device, the cockpit has a high-tech, sophisticated appearance. TFT provides excellent visibility. Display functions include a digital speedometer, digital bar-style tachometer, shift lamp, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, odometer, dual trip meter, current and average fuel consumption, remaining range, average speed, total time, and coolant. Temperature, battery voltage, clock, Kawasaki service reminder, oil change reminder, and Kawasaki service reminder.
