2022 Kawasaki KX450 Dirt Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Cond Disc-Spring Hydraulic Clutch with Low Friction for Engine Performance Cond Disc-Spring Hydraulic Clutch Provides Permanent Sense with Light Pulling in a Thick Frame Frame, Contributes to Light, Nimble Handling Large Diameter Coil Spring Makes the fork easier. Spring fork simplifies setup.
The Monster Energy Kawasaki race team provided advice for the 449cc lightweight engine package, which produces peak power and a torque profile that makes it easy to jump on the throttle quickly. The powerful KX450 engine has an electronic start that is powered by a button and is powered by a small Li-ion battery. Kawasaki’s state-of-the-art road racing technology and World Superbike experts collaborated on a lightweight fingerprint valve activation mechanism that allowed larger diameter valves and more aggressive cam profiles. A high-capacity condenser disc-spring hydraulic clutch combines closely with a five-speed transmission to help control and provide a permanent feel even during heavy use.
When riding at high speeds, a narrow aluminum frame enables accurate front-end turns with excellent feel and agility. The lightweight frame is made of forged, extruded, and cast components; the engine acts as a pressure member and contributes to the frame’s rigidity. To focus on its center of gravity and balanced handling, the engineers carefully selected the dimensions of the swing arm pivot, output sprocket, and rear axle placement.
On the front are high-performance 49mm coil spring front forks with A-KIT technology, with large diameter inner tubes the size used by Kawasaki’s factory racing team. For smooth movement and substantial dampness, the divisions allow the installation of large damping pistons. A new Uni-Trak linkage system combines the Ava-KIT technology from the back of the Showa compact design with large-diameter compression adjusters at the rear.
The KX450’s powerful engine is well complemented by the leading manufacturer’s ample braking 270mm petal-like front brake rotor. The rear brake rotor is petal shaped and has a diameter of 250 mm, which is similar to the large disc in front.
Renthal Fatbar
A popular aftermarket accessory, factory-style 28.6mm rental aluminum fiber, is now a standard feature.
Hydraulic Clutch
The first hydraulic clutch on a motor crusher from Kawasaki gives you a more natural feeling and a lighter movement.
KX FI Calibration Kit (Accessory)
The KX FI Calibration Controller is a portable handheld calibration device that allows riders to change engine maps without inserting a PC or batteries into the ECU. Includes seven pre-programmed maps presets.
Light Weight & Light, Nimble Handling
The KX450’s fast lap times are aided by its light, agile handling, which complements the robust engine. While the re-introduction of the coil spring fork and the installation of the electric start adds weight, every effort has been made to minimize the weight gain.
Electric Start
After an accident, restarting the engine faster can make a difference in keeping your lead safe and fighting the way back through the pack.
Easy Engine Tuning: DFI Setting Data Selection
Riders can quickly and easily access their selection of three maps (standard, complex, and soft) provided in ECU with a DFI coupler.
KLCM (Kawasaki Launch Control Mode)
The KLCM automatically monitors the engine’s output to avoid the wheel from spinning and assists riders by improving stop-to-acceleration. When the clutch lever is pressed in, and the system is turned on, the engine speed is limited to a specific rate while the rider retains full power.
ERGO-FIT
For rider comfort and control, proper fit is essential. However, depending on the rider’s physical proportions and riding style, the perfect fit varies from rider to rider.
The ERGO-FIT is a riding positioning interface device that allows cyclists to determine their best riding posture. A mix of interchangeable components and parts with adjustable locations can be used to adapt to different points of the chassis interface (e.g., handlebars, footpegs, and seats). It allows many riders to establish a comfortable and controllable riding posture.
