The Kawasaki KLX line of off-road recreational bikes is known for its rider-friendly nature, incredible trail capability, and dependence, which makes them essential for any adventurous rider. The KLX230S Dual Game introduces a new model for Kawasaki’s KLX portfolio for 2022. The new 2022 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dual Purpose Motorcycle is built on the popular 2022 Kawasaki KLX230 with newly designed front and rear suspension, which reduces the total seat height by about two inches compared to the KLX230 model, keeping in mind its good legacy. The KLX230 S is designed to enjoy an actual trail and is optimized for off-road flexibility. Make the best playground by changing different types of terrain.
The new 2022 Kawasaki KLX230 S and 2022 KLX230 S ABS are based on the KLX230 models but with a redesigned suspension that reduces the seat height by 2.2 inches for better ground access.
With a turkey engine, active chassis, and long travel suspension, they are specifically designed for trail rides, allowing riders to get out of the city and enjoy the trails with confidence and pleasure. In the case of the Kawasaki KLX230 S ABS, Kawasaki’s first dual-purpose anti-lock braking system is available to give riders even more confidence.
2022 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dual Purpose Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Unique Key Features
- The 6.2-inch front suspension is a new Uniterack rear suspension with a minor two-stage front suspension.
- The new Kawasaki’s first dual-purpose ABS is now available. Includes Kawasaki’s digital fuel injection system.
- Full digital instrumentation, liquid-cooled, compact 4-stroke engine enhanced displacement produces more power and torque than other 250CC class machines in the same size package.
Suspension
Adopting smaller dual-phase springs with a firmer spring rate than the KLX230 and KLX230 ABS versions, the front fork was shortened by a total of 2.4 inches, reducing the seat height by 2.2 inches. A 37mm telescopic front fork protects the rider with a total travel of 6.2 inches, which enhances the rider’s confidence when passing through rugged terrain or piloting on the road. The upgraded Uni-Trak rear suspension, which is more shock-absorbing than the spring rate, offers 6.6-inch wheel travel while improving handling and collision absorption.
Ergonomics
The KLX230 S motorcycle’s frame, seat, and tank were designed to balance form and function, making it easier to hold the frame by the legs and providing maximum chassis control. The KLX230 S has a low seat height of 32.7 inches thanks to its compact design and improved suspension.
The flat shape of the tank and seat, like KX motocross motorcycles, allows the rider more mobility by changing the riding positions and allows the rider to sit further forward. In addition to the dual-purpose ride, comfort was also taken into account when deciding the shape and thickness of the seat.
Engine
Small in size, the four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine provides smooth, reliable, and long-lasting performance. The engine is 67.0 x 66.0 mm in length and stroke with a displacement of 233cc. Longstroke torque is powerful in the low to medium range, allowing smooth and easy handling. For easy-to-use power character and reliance, a basic SOHC two-valve design was adopted.
Fuel injection ensures that fuel flow is uniform and free from outside air temperature or altitude. It also allows for adopting an electronic starter, which allows a simple start at the touch of a button regardless of whether the engine is hot or cold and increases emissions. The fuel injection system uses a 32 mm throttle body that provides accurate feedback.
Chassis
The high tensile steel frame provides excellent handling for comfortable and reliable riding on both dirt and road. By combining the engine and the frame, the engineers achieved lower engine height, more outstanding chassis stiffness balance, and a lower center of gravity in a smaller chassis. The motorcycle’s movement is aided by its short 53.5 “wheelbase, which allows riders to communicate more easily on the ground.
Wheels & Brakes
Full-size aluminum wheels, measuring 21 front and 18, allow riders to navigate vast areas, increasing rider confidence and performance.
The KLX230 S motorbike has standard front and rear petal disc brakes, which provide excellent braking performance. Firm, easy-to-control brakes are supplied by a 240 mm front disc held by a twin-piston caliper. A 220 mm disc is mounted on the back of a lightweight KX type by a master cylinder with a unified reservoir and single-piston caliper.
Styling & Instrumentation
The KLX230 S is styled after Kawasaki’s KX motocross motorcycles, giving it a vibrant, aggressive look similar to its trail riding abilities. A 1.9-gallon gasoline tank ensures that leisure time continues throughout the day.
Between the handlebars is an easy-to-read instrumentation dash with an on / off switch, indicator lamp, low fuel warning lamp, and FI warning bulb.
