2022 Honda CRF300L ABS Dual Sports Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Single-Cylinder Engine
For a bike like the CRF300L, a single is an ideal choice. It is small, simple, and highly fuel-efficient. Additionally, there is even more power and torque with the bigger engine.
Double-Overhead-Cam Construction
Superior engineering has long been associated with Honda engines. A prime example is the brand-new engine in the CRF300L. Free-revving, very effective, and loaded with low-maintenance characteristics is the double-overhead-cam architecture.
Fuel Injection
Your bike automatically adjusts for high altitude or cold weather operation thanks to fuel injection. Even more, it’s effective, so even if your bike has been resting for some time, you won’t ever have to worry about blocked carburetor jets.
Styling CRF450R-Inspired Bodywork
The redesigned bodywork design and aesthetics of the CRF300L are based on our CRF450R motocross motorcycles. With seamless transitions between the bodywork components, tank, and seat, it is aesthetically pleasing and functional, making it simple to maneuver the bike.
Slim Seat Front
The front of the CRF300L seat is thin, which makes it simpler to go forward when riding or to put your feet down when coming to a halt.
More Footroom
You get additional foot room by changing the footpeg placement and relocating the new engine in the new chassis, which is especially helpful if you’re wearing bulky off-road riding boots.
Polished Black Rims
The new polished finish of the black rims makes them appear fantastic and makes cleaning them simple.
Engine Counterbalancer
The engine runs smoothly because it has a counterbalance. You have the smoothness of a multi-cylinder bike together with the powerful benefits of a single and the low overall width of a single.
Fuel Injection
Even in chilly weather, the CRF300L starts up quickly thanks to fuel injection. It also aids in lowering emissions and improving performance and fuel economy compared to a carbureted bike.
Integrated Rear Master Cylinder
We built the fluid reservoir for the rear brakes directly into the master-cylinder design. Off-road, the plane is more damage resistant since it is simple, small, and tucks in.
Large Sidestand Foot
We increased the size of the CRF300L’s side stand foot. Even if it sounds like a bit of touch, you’ll be grateful for it if you have to park in an asphalt lot on a hot day while riding off-road or even on-road.
Comfortable Seating Position
With a long, motocross-style seat, you can quickly move forward, backward, and right or left, allowing you to negotiate shifting terrain comfortably.
Cargo Convenience
Bungee cords may be used to quickly and easily fasten a small weight to the passenger seat using special cargo hooks. It’s just one more of the thoughtful details that contribute to the versatility of these bikes. For tiny goods you need to keep safe, it also contains a storage compartment on the left side.
Digital Instrumentation
The digital instrument cluster of the CRF300L boasts big, simple-to-read numbers and indications. You also get a tachometer, dual trumpeters, a clock, and other things.
Passenger Ready
Each CRF300L model is fully prepared to carry a passenger so that you can share the fun thanks to its long seat and fold-up frame-mounted passenger foot pegs.
21-Inch/18-Inch Front and Rear Wheels
You can choose from a wide range of tires for everything from challenging off-road trail riding to smooth on-road adventures thanks to the wheels’ 21-inch front and 18-inch rear diameters.
Disc Brakes
Front and rear hydraulic discs on the CRF300L provide the bike with exceptional stopping power and braking feel for both on- and off-road riding. Even optional anti-lock brakes are available for it (ABS). An additional benefit is that the rear wheel’s ABS function may be disabled for off-road riding, but it is simple to put it back on.
More Ground Clearance
To achieve an 11.2-inch ground clearance, the engine is positioned higher in the frame.
Inverted Fork
Large 43mm sliders are seen on an inverted Showa® fork. Due to its strength, the CRF300L has outstanding handling on and off the road.
Pro-Link Rear Suspension
The CRF300L offers exceptional comfort, traction, and handling while boosting rider confidence thanks to its single-shock Pro-Link rear suspension.
Strong Steel Frame
The robust steel frame is rigid and made to withstand the natural world’s unforgiving roads and off-road tracks. Additionally, since we adjusted the frame’s stiffness, you now get an even greater feel.
Styling
The CRF300L is intended to resemble the CRF Performance range, which includes the CRF450X that rules the Baja, with its bodywork and red, white, black, and blue graphics.
Riding Position
Good rider input and vehicle maneuverability are made possible by the riding posture. In addition to allowing a natural elbow posture and light steering, handlebar sweep and weights also reduce vibration. The seat’s front region is narrow to allow for practical rider input via the thighs and knees, while the back and center portions are somewhat large for comfort. Pegs for passengers are available.
Meter
Characters on the meter are prominent for easy reading and are printed in black on a white backdrop. Gear position, fuel mileage, and fuel consumption are among the features in addition to speed, clock, and rpm measurements.
Engine / Drivetrain
The diameter and stroke measurements for the liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine are 76.0 mm and 63.0 mm, respectively, giving a 286 cc displacement. The lower and middle portions of the rev range, which are often employed in both off-road and city riding, have a very high power output.
The exhaust system produces a low sound output while minimizing vibrations, and a big 38 mm throttle body aids in achieving rider-friendly throttle control, particularly at low rpm. A rocker-arm arrangement for the engine’s valve train allows for a small cylinder head, and the counterbalance ensures smooth operation.
Transmission
A superb compromise suitable for city, long-distance, and off-road applications, the six-speed gearbox has tight spacing in the lower ratios and broad spacing in the upper gears, providing optimal gear selection while permitting comfortable high-speed cruising.
Clutch
Due in part to an assist/slipper clutch that also offers effective performance during aggressive downshifting, the CRF300L features a relatively low clutch-lever pull.
Chassis / Suspension
Because components were carefully chosen, the vehicle’s overall weight is minimal. To maintain the center of gravity low and reduce steering effort, the triple bottom clamp, for instance, is made of aluminum rather than steel.
Frame / Swing arm
The weight of the frame is reduced by optimization of its primary components, and improved lateral stiffness enables excellent rider feel and mobility. Cradle tubes measure 25.4 mm in diameter. Additionally, the significant 11.2-inch ground clearance lessens the possibility of obstruction while riding in challenging off-road terrain. Similar to the lateral and torsional stiffness, the overall cross-section of the swing arm is intended to offer a consistent distribution of twist, resulting in an excellent feel and predictable handling. Low swing arm weight reduces sprung weight for superior suspension movement.
Suspension
It has a Pro-Link® single-shock rear system and a 43 mm inverted Showa fork. The 10.2-inch difference between the front and rear suspension travel allows for excellent performance, especially while riding off-road.
Wheels / Brakes
The wheels are the same size as those on high-performance off-road vehicles, measuring 21 inches up front and 18 inches down back, allowing for effortless rolling over rugged terrain. The polished black metal rims are shiny and straightforward to clean. A hollow rear axle reduces unsprung weight.
For controlled, smooth stops in various settings, the front and rear hydraulic brakes have 256 and 220 mm rotors, respectively. ABS is also an option. For a straightforward, uncluttered design, the reservoir is incorporated into the rear-brake master cylinder in a manner like to that of the CRF Performance series. ABS is conveniently deactivated in the back, which offers a different riding experience in off-road situations.
Accessories
Hand guards, a skid plate, an electrical socket, wider footpegs, a top box, a rack, and other Honda Accessories are available.
Current EPA and CARB requirements
Due to the emissions equipment, the California version is slightly different.
