2022 50 SX Factory Edition KTM Motocross – Features
Engine & Exhaust
Exhaust
The FMF Powercore 2 silencer and FMF Fatty pipe are standard on the KTM 50 SX Factory Edition and give an optimized low to mid-range power curve while looking great owing to the new pipe’s nickel-plated, stainless, polished surface and an exceptionally high-grade, pressed, anodized aluminum silencer body. The new FMF complete system guarantees rich 2-stroke sounds and a factory look.
Engine
The small and powerful 2-stroke engine is in the highly competitive 50 cc class. Its new three-shaft design places the crankshaft near the center of gravity, providing brilliant handling. The design allows for a flow-optimized intake angle into the reed valve, resulting in exceptional performance over the whole rpm range. The new clutch and ignition covers are CNC machined from orange anodized aluminum and offer excellent heat dissipation, durability, and, of course, accentuate this machine’s racing DNA.
KTM’s multidisc automated clutch helps for precise acceleration and makes riding this motorbike as simple as twisting the throttle. The KTM 50 SX Factory Edition has a unique clutch design for improved power delivery, resulting in very nimble handling and maximum performance. With no additional equipment, the clutch may be simply changed to the rider’s preferences or the exact requirements of different tracks in minutes. A tweaked carburetor setting, along with the improved engine setup and a lower back sprocket, allows the bike to go even quicker!
Clutch
The new centrifugal multi-disc automated clutch, developed by KTM, has been calibrated particularly for the KTM 50 SX Factory Edition. It allows for precise acceleration while making riding this motorbike the most simple task. It may also be changed to the track and rider’s unique needs in minutes and without the need for any extra equipment.
Cooling
The KTM 50 SX Factory Edition, like the larger KTM motorcycles, includes a liquid cooling system that even cools the crankcase. Large radiators guarantee excellent heat dissipation and dependability, especially under harsh conditions.
Chassis
Brakes
The new Formula front and rear hydraulic brakes come standard with lightweight wave discs that are simple to manage even for the youngest riders on the KTM 50 SX Factory Edition. In all situations, this guarantees optimal deceleration.
Frame
Lightweight, high-strength chromium-molybdenum steel parts make up the contemporary frame. It combines highest longitudinal stiffness with torsional rigidity that is tuned. It has greater handling and cornering precision, as well as great stability.
Wheels
To provide the most significant racing configuration on the showroom floor, super lightweight black anodized aluminum rims are combined with high-performance Dunlop Geomax MX 53 tires. The MX 53 tires use BLOCK-IN-A-BLOCK technology and give better grip and handling on various terrain.
Front suspension
The WP XACT front fork features AER technology and is a split fork with independent functions for each leg. It is a 48mm USD air-sprung fork developed by WP in close cooperation with KTM. Damping functions are mounted on the right side, while the air spring is fixed on the left. To avoid air pressure loss, the left leg has a two-chamber system with a capsuled air cartridge. The internal cartridge pressure will hold the bike in place if the exterior seal begins to leak.
A single air valve helps the air spring adjust to any rider’s weight. There are no extra tools necessary; the fork air pump is included with the bike. A damping cartridge is incorporated into the right fork leg to cater to all of the dumping demands. With a simple dial twist, it may be adjusted with the track conditions and the rider’s preferences (compression from the top, rebound from the bottom, 30 clicks each). The fork (with new internals and modified damping characteristics) is more comfortable and responsive than ever right out of the box. However, you may still pound it to bits.
Rear suspension
The WP XACT shock with PDS (Progressive Damping System) is directly attached to the swingarm and has exceptional damping properties. It has 185mm of suspension travel and can be readily adjusted to the rider’s preferences and track conditions.
Ergonomics & Comfort
Handlebar
A finely designed tapered handlebar built of high-quality aluminum alloy is used on the 2022 50 SX Factory Edition KTM Motocross. While the little shredders are going full out, it gives them a fantastic sense of control and comfort. The bike also comes with new grey ODI lock-on grips, including a vulcanized grip on the right side and a lock-on grip on the left that doesn’t need glue or wire to install. The grips are five times smaller than previously, ideally suiting the tiny hands of young racers.
Bodywork & Graphics
Decals
The distinctive in-mold graphics on the 2022 KTM 50 SX Factory Edition imitate the full-sized Factory Race motorcycles. It boasts a quick, aggressive look that shouts READY TO RACE, indicating that the bike is built for speed. The blue gripper seat fits the blue accents in the artwork well and adds a Factory touch.
