The Honda brand disassembled and reassembled the 2021 PCX125 Honda Scooter – and improved each component. The cleverly updated style features futuristic lines and lower storage, a USB Type-C socket, and an intelligent key. A brand new liquid-cooled 4V engine produces more power, improving speed and speed while maintaining exceptional fuel economy. It also has Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) to keep the rear tire grip in wet or dry conditions. A new frame, wider tire size, longer rear suspension, and ABS brakes provide a smoother and safer ride.
Let’s start with the philosophy behind it and why it has been one of Europe’s favorite scooters for over a decade. Provides personal comfort with sit-in riding position, lower seat storage for full-face helmets, and overall high construction quality with ‘X’ level – PCX. No need to waste time waiting for expensive taxis or delayed public transport – just press the start button and leave. The slim, sleek PCX125 can easily navigate city traffic, getting you to where you need to go in style and on time.
2021 PCX125 Honda Scooter maintains its distinctive presence while consolidating its style. Rolling statement of difference with more bold and crisper, redesigned LED lighting. The bodywork also hides extra under-seat storage, extra floor space, and a USB Type-C charger in the glow box. A new ‘widescreen’ device display displays all the essential information, and the Honda Smart now controls the ignition and set.
The improved Smart Power Plus (ESP +) four-valve engine, which delivers more power and torque, is also new, as is the advantage of the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). It is housed in a newly designed tubular steel frame. Rear jerks add extra travel for better ride comfort, and both front and rear tires have increased in size.
2021 PCX125 Honda Scooter – Features and Specs
Styling and Equipment
2021 PCX125 Honda Scooter has bodywork with its strong character line and ‘block’ primary paint color – it has always been a permanent design signature of the PCX125, flowing back and forth simultaneously. The theme has been rolled out for the 2021 update, but it’s bold and crisp with a strong sense of future style that has always been part of PCX’s appeal.
PCX125 stands out from the crowd thanks to its complete, premium LED lighting. The new headlight has a signature moving light with five narrow flash lines parallel. It is paired with an X-shaped taillight and uses multi-optic technology to create an intense 3D effect.
To create a dramatic effect, all lines and angles have been meticulously reshaped. The subsequent firing ignites in the upper part but pulls beautifully on the back. It, combined with the slightly larger blackout screen, provides better protection from the wind without the addition of bulk.
The seat is designed for easy ground access and rider/plane comfort. There is also a 30mm extra foot space at the front and sides. The seat height is 764mm, but with a ‘straddling’ height of 540mm, it’s very manageable.
Grabbing lines also hide extra storage space under the seat. An additional 2.4L increases the total volume to 30.4L, sufficient for a full-face helmet and other accessories. The Glowbox also has a USB Type-C socket which replaces the previous design ACC charger and is ready to be plugged into a smartphone. The fuel filler cap cover has been redesigned with space to store the fuel cap while refueling.
Another new addition to the arsenal of an intelligent PCX125. It can handle the (optional) 35L removable smart top box and the central ignition switch knob, and compartment locking.
The box opens with a smart key in the rider’s pocket and locks automatically when the rider walks. It can be closed without the use of a key.
An all-new ‘Widescreen’ Central Console instrument layout presents all information in a clear and concise format for easy reading. Speed appears on an Ultimate LCD, and other information available includes an odometer, average fuel consumption, fuel gauge, trip meter, and Idling Stop indicator.
Engine
2021 PCX125 Honda Scooter provides a new, improved Smart Power Plus (ESP +) four-valve, water-cooled SOHC power plant that produces 9.2kW at 8,750rpm and 11.8Nm at 6,500rpm. Bore and stroke dimensions are 53.5 x 55.5 mm, with a compression ratio of 11.5: 1. (Unlike previous designs, 52.4 x 57.9mm and 11: 1). The short-stroke not only makes room for two additional valves but also reduces the sliding friction.
Acceleration has been improved by stop or roll-on, and PCX will happily travel at speeds of up to 90km / h. V-max speed is 98km / h, and with a fuel efficiency of approximately 47.6km / l (WMTC mode) and a tank capacity of 8.1L, the filling range is around 385km.
The Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which works in the background to skillfully adjust the traction of the rear tires, is another new element of the PCX that enhances rider confidence in wet conditions. When HSTC actively reduces wheel spin, a ‘T’ signal appears on the dashboard, and the system can be shut down completely.
Honda’s eSP + low friction technology is prominent throughout the engine, and intelligent packaging of elements such as the oil pump (included in the crankcase) helps ensure more excellent performance. A compact combustion chamber with PGM-FI fuel injection with a 28mm diameter throttle body 2mm more considerable improves combustion speed and cooling efficiency.
An offset cylinder reduces the friction caused by bore contact with the piston, allowing combustion energy to be more efficiently transferred to the crankshaft. A’spiny ‘cast iron sleeve prevents distortion of inner bore diameter with small surface expansion, and this intelligent design reduces friction by reducing the tension in the piston ring. A new hydraulic cam chain tensioner increases engine efficiency by reducing internal vibrations and fuel economy.
Piston oil jets, like the CRF450R, operate on competitive MX motorcycles, keeping the engine cool. It allows faster ignition timing and prevents abnormal combustion, such as ‘knocking.’ Hydraulic cam chain tensioner lifter chain reduces vibration, noise and friction.
A high-performance radiator built into the proper side crankcase uses a small light fan to reduce friction losses and drag. The use of three low friction main bearings designed to handle the load received from it reduces the rolling resistance inside the transmission unit. Better performance is achieved with an excellent clutch – and pliers.
The brushless ACG starter is an integrated component mounted directly on the tip of the crankshaft that acts as both a starting motor and a replacement. It rotates the engine, eliminating noise caused by gear engagement or meshing.
Chassis
2021 PCX125 Honda Scooter features a revised duplex steel cradle frame that aims to provide durability without sacrificing PCX’s legendary inner-city vibrancy to the rigors of urban life, as well as its user-friendliness and pleasant riding position.
The wheelbase is 1,315 mm with a rack of 26 ° 30 ‘and a tail of 80 mm. The total weight of the curb is 130 kg. Both wheels have a pretty new design to match the bodywork, and the rear wheel is now 13 inches in diameter, one inch smaller. The tire sizes are similarly large, 110 / 70-14 front and 130 / 70-13 rear (instead of 100 / 80-14 and 120 / 70-14).
The 31mm front forks and 89mm axle travel are intact, but the rear shock absorbers have an extra 10mm stroke at 95mm and heavy-weight goggles for smooth riding on the city’s rough roads.
The twin pistons offer a front caliper and 220mm disc stopping power similar to the 130mm rear drum brakes. Single-channel ABS works on the front brakes.
