Compact 649cc Twin-Cylinder, DOHC Engine
They are designed to produce strong, smooth, and responsive, especially in the low to mid-range, for rider-friendly strength features that affect control and confidence in various riding conditions. For best performance in common to mid-range, the camshaft has a short operating angle and valve overlap.
The intake port design has been modified to improve low and medium-range responsiveness and performance. The compact airbox supports the overall slimmer design of the bike and enhances the sense of power over short and medium distances. A short header in the exhaust system increases the top and control, while the internal structure of the smooth muffler improves power distribution from low to medium distance.
Digital Fuel Injection (KP)
Keyhan throttle bodies with dual throttle valves (KP) contribute to low solid to mid-range power for optimal performance and riding ability. The ECU controls the sub-throttle, positioned behind the main throttle valves, to ensure that the throttle response in the DFI® system is correct.
Exhaust distribution is significantly reduced thanks to the correct distribution of fuel using the right atomizing injector and exhaust catalyzer. Starting and warm-up are facilitated with an automatic rapid idle system.
Assist & Slipper Clutch
The clutch is pressed together during acceleration with the help of the rotating forces of an all-new clutch hub and pressure plate, permitting the use of brand-new low and light clutch springs for a soft feeling on the lever. The sleeper feature allows some clutches to slip in high backlight conditions like when the low gear is selected, to help reduce engine lockup and stalling, as well as rear-wheel hop.
Frame
High tensile steel trails are designed to reduce the dimensions of the frame and the wall thickness to reduce the frame’s weight and contribute to extremely light handling. The components of the structure are arranged in such a way that the lines of the stylish frame are as straight as possible. When turning was required, the angles were kept as short as possible, resulting in a design that effectively distributed the load.
To further reduce the weight, three-point, securely mounted engines and footpeg stages are used as pressure elements.
Triple Petal Design Brake Discs
Nissin brake calipers have a dynamic shape and include front and rear brake pads, with the front providing substantial initial cuts and the rear providing excellent control and superior total brake force. The large 27mm piston brakes in the front calipers offer an exceptional feel. The petal design allows for better cooling and warp resistance.
Wheels and Tires
The sporty five-spoke wheel design helps with the lightweight, agile aspect. The Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires help in light handling.
Strong Sugomi Styling
A centrally positioned LED position lamp complements a smaller LED headlamp. The design of the headlights is highlighted with sharp edges. The colored parts are raised high to give a light look to this short, compact cowl, which features a two-piece design. A solid chin spoiler, meter cover, and cowl-forward bent lines enhance the Sonoma design.
The wide radiator shrouds give the impression of powerful shoulders, which contributes to the impressive aspect of the Z650, while their practical construction complements the aggressive shape of the machine. Z-shaped LED taillights illuminate.
