Engine
The powerful 233cc fuel-injected air-cooled engine is bred to an easy-to-use smooth-shifting 6-speed transmission and manual clutch. Additionally, air-cooled with SOHC architecture that simplifies maintenance.
DFI (digital fuel injection) helps offer smooth, precise throttle response for better tail engine control. Fuel injection automatically adjusts for fluctuations in air temperature and altitude to ensure a steady fuel flow, resulting in lower emissions.
DFI guarantees a steady start whether the engine is hot or cold, and the all-new engine is straightforward to start when paired with an all-new electric starter button.
Chassis
The new high tensile steel frame was designed with trail performance and rider confidence.
The frame and engine were assembled. Engine height was reduced dramatically to help create a suitable frame line for more excellent hardness balance and center of gravity.
The frame was also redesigned so riders could easily hold it with their legs for excellent control and input. The flat seat design, paired with a flush seam between the seat, shroud, and side cover, enhances ride control and offers freedom of movement.
The short wheelbase helps move the trail.
Long-distance suspension improves trail ride performance by delivering adequate ground clearance.
The rear suspension of the new Uni-Trak (KP) offers a smooth ride on small pieces while being robust enough to handle large ones.
The preload can be easily adjusted on the gas pressure solo rear shock to help riders adjust the bike according to weight.
Petal disc brakes provide reliable braking.
Full-size aluminum wheels and 21-inch front and 18-inch rear improve trail riding ability.
The aesthetic elements of the 2021 Kawasaki KLX230 ABS offer a vibrant and aggressive look.
