2021 500 XCF-W KTM Powerful Dirt Bike – Features and Price
Cutting-Edge 4-Stroke
To make the EXC-F bikes the most competitive 4-stroke motorcycles today, KTM refuses to lower gear.
Over the last several years, KTM engineers have focused on reducing weight, increasing torque, improving engine management, and delivering a more responsive ride. The 2021 KTM EXC-F models are race-winning machines in all offroad racing categories, regardless of rider ability.
Engine
KTM’s fuel-injected 4-stroke engines are the most refined and powerful, with compact proportions and class-leading power. Fuel injection and exhaust systems designed specifically for off-road use are just a few internal components contributing to smooth power delivery. In terms of power-to-weight ratio, these Euro IV homologated engines are the lightest and most competitive ever.
Exhaust
An essential factor in enhanced power delivery and performance is the redesigned exhaust, which delivers a powerful punch. Two-piece header pipes have been added to all 4-stroke XCF-W models, making disassembly easier and allowing greater access to the shock. Muffler sleeves are now made of aluminum with a slightly more prominent profile and a new cap. Newer models have a shorter and more compact design than their predecessors. It improves mass centralization and reduces overall weight.
With its fuel-injected SOHC engine, the KTM 500 XCF-W motorcycle is the most powerful and refined 500 cc motorcycle. As the smallest, lightest, and most powerful engine available, it delivers class-leading power throughout the entire rpm range while weighing in at just 29.2 kg.
Airbox
For maximum power and throttle response, the redesigned airbox on the KTM XCF-W has been overhauled to provide superior flow dynamics. Despite the evident improvements in performance, the new design offers optimal protection for the air filter. Using a well-built rigid cage, the massive twin-air air filter can avoid incorrect installation. Maintenance of the new filter is fast and straightforward, and there are no tools required as in previous models. It is a typical feature of KTM.
Frame
Chromoly steel frames with innovative high-tech features are standard on all XCF-W versions. Hydraulic components made by robot welding are included in this category. Their race-proven geometry has been retained, but critical parts have been redesigned to have more lateral, longitudinal, and torsional stiffness, resulting in better input for the rider, fun handling, and enhanced stability. Vibration is further reduced, and cornering precision is enhanced thanks to aluminum for the laterally attached engine head supports. Recently revised lateral frame shields with a structured surface improve grip and protect the muffler on the right side of the bike from heat buildup. ‘ Using lightweight aluminum profiles, the new subframe weighs less than 2-pound (900-gram) and is 40-millimeter longer than previously, improving the stability of the rear fender.
Handlebar
The aluminum tapered NEKEN handlebars on all KTM XCF-W models have the same high-strength design. The handlebar may be positioned in four different ways. This bike comes with two handlebars, one of which has an ODI vulcanized grip on the right and a lock-on grip on the left. A handlebar-mounted ignition curve selection switch is available as an option for all models. Traction control, a unique function that ensures more effective traction in slippery circumstances, may also be enabled via this optional switch by the rider during the ride.
Handlebar Map Select Switch
Using a single button, the rider may choose between a conventional map and a more aggressive map for loamy, high-grip dirt situations. It is beneficial if the track conditions change or if the rider needs greater control as the ride progresses and he becomes fatigued.
Battery & wiring harness
A significant advantage of any off-road activity is using an electric starter. It is powered by a 2 Ah lithium-ion starter battery, which is light and ensures a safe and dependable starting. Most of the electrical components are conveniently located underneath the seat in a common region of the wire harness.
