2020 Kawasaki Versys 650 ABS Adventure Motorcycle – Features and Price
Engine
The radiator fan core for the Kawasaki Air Management System (KP) (KAMS) helps move the hot engine air down to the track and away from the rider. The new compact parallel-twin engine helps keep the overall proportions of the motorbike modest and agile. The bike has 3-6,000 rpm; the engine delivers mighty, responsive power for stop-to-speed speeds. The engine is tiny from front to rear due to the triangular crank and the transmission shaft configuration. A semi-dry sump (KP) oil system reduces the total height of the engine, and the little pitch of the (KP) chrome composite plated aluminum cylinder helps reduce the engine width.
One-piece mufflers and exhaust pipes help improve top and engine performance. At the bottom of the engine, a damper is attached with a 3-way catalyst and built-in tip aperture to help reduce the center of gravity and centralize weight. The 180-degree crankshaft and balance shaft make the engine run smoothly. To promote cooling, oil sprays the bottom of the oil jet piston into the large ends of the connecting rod. The bike has the maximum performance and riding ability; the 38 mm Kevin Throttle Bodies have two throttle valves (KP). The ECU controls the sub-throttle, located behind the main throttle valves to provide a more accurate response to the DFI® system similar to a constant speed carburetor.
Chassis
The bike has ride comfort rubber front engine mounts to help reduce vibration. The primary and unusual double-pipe perimeter frame (KP) enhances the nature of light handling. The seat is supported by a backbone-style rear sub-frame which provides a wide cushion and easy access to the ground. The sturdy rear sub-frame may have additional direct mount saddlebags and an optional accessory top case for additional touring capacity. The swingarm makes handling light and easy. The aggressive muffler design is made possible by the flower wing form on the right.
Triple Petal Design Brake Discs
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) helps apply the brakes in certain conditions and is controlled by a small Bosch control unit, which saves space and weight. Nissan brake calipers have unique front and rear brake pads, the front of which has substantial starting cuts and the rear provides excellent control and superior total brake force. When the accessories are installed, the large rear wing brake disc helps handle the heavy load. The large 27mm piston brakes in the front calipers provide an exceptional feel. The shape of the petals improves resistance to cold and warping.
Sporty Aerodynamic Bodywork
The Upper and side cowl, as well as the tail cowl, work together to create a crisp game image. The windscreen improves ride comfort and features knobs that allow the operator to adjust the 2.4-inch windscreen range without tools.
Ergonomics
Footpegs are designed for comfortable riding without sacrificing performance. Climbing plates mounted on rubber footpegs help to separate the rider from vibration. Rider shoes are protected from paint damage by resin heel protectors. Vibration is reduced when the handlebar is placed on the rubber. The optional KQR (Kawasaki Quick Release) 28-liter saddle bag comes with a passenger grip, which gives a nice handhold.
