Ducati Presents New Models for 2020

Ducati has unveiled the best and latest bikes and e-bikes for 2020 before EICMA 2019, which will be held at Fiera Milano-Rho from 7 to 10 November. A wholly refurbished collection, ready to set new standards in aesthetics, performance and technology.

Ducati World Première 2020 culmination of the Global Dealers Conference, which brought together more than a thousand prominent Ducati dealers from 71 countries. The event streamed live on the Internet worldwide took place on Palacongressi di Rimini on Wednesday, October 23, and it was Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, who personally unveiled the new 2020 range.

Claudio Domenicali, who launched Ducati World Première 2020, commented, “We have chosen to live in Motor Valley for Ducati World Première 2020, an area that connects great brands – the world. I am unique – which we are happy to be a part of. ” “Today, we showcase a variety of fantasy bikes, as well as three new e-bikes that complement the Ducati MIG-RR, which was introduced last year.” At the top is the MIG-RR Limited Edition, which includes highly unusual components such as carbon codes and an electronic shifter, as well as the ability to be personalized with the customer’s name and a specific suspension configuration.

Engine

The 2020 Ducati Panigale V4 S Sports Bike comes with new ride-by-wire mapping systems that are designed, as well as many options for torque delivery control. The rider’s demand track is more closely linked to the torque provided by specific RbW programming, providing a smoother, more predictable throttle response. Through and outside the curves, the modified torque delivery control approach allows the rider to stabilize at the selected throttle aperture more easily. Furthermore, the linearization of the torque cruise in gears I, II, and III depends on the chosen power mode to minimize the loss of stability during acceleration. A small, lightweight, high-performance engine developed in collaboration with Ducati Corse.

The engine casing is made of gravity diecast aluminum and is connected in a horizontal, diagonal configuration. The upper crankcase provides better protection and reduces friction by wearing four nickel-coated aluminum cylinder liners in half. Two low attachment compression rings and an oil ring are included in the 81 mm diameter piston which slips inside the liners. The box-in-box piston molds are made of aluminum and forged steel with a spacing of 101.8 mm. A high compression ratio of 14: 1 enhances the racing-affected appearance.

The crankshaft consists of nitride steel and rotates on three supports, similar to the Desmosedici engines participating in MotoGP. It is mounted on brass bushes and turns on three supports. This specific shaft shape, when combined with the V engine configuration, provides a unique ‘twin pulse’ ignition configuration. The two cylinders of the left hand, as well as the two cylinders of the right hand, burn together, which makes the difference between them. The ignition points on the timing chart are 0 °, 90 °, 290 °, and 380. With this firing arrangement, the V4 looks precisely like the MotoGP Desmosedici.

Chassis

The front frame was a significant upgrade to the Panigale V4 MY2020 chassis. Later, according to the requirements of Ducati Corse, customized suspension setup with a high center of gravity, increase in the angle of chain force, and better use of suspension travel. Motorcycles are easier to lie down in turns while lowering the brakes, reaching the peak faster, repelling any pit or wave more efficiently. Thanks to these improvements, it behaves more neutrally outside the curves.

Ducati Corse Standards for Front Frame

The front frame now resembles the V4 R, except for the lighter, machined sides, which guarantees that Ducati Corse’s challenging goals for the SBK Championship have been met and are also losing weight. Low-end track tire tension and front-end ‘feel’ at maximum lean angles result in increased frame flexibility.

The lightweight magnesium front subframe and shell cast aluminum seat subframe are rounded out of the chassis (attached to the top front frame and bolted to the bottom rear cylinder bank head).

Extended Chain of Force Angle and High Center of Gravity

The fork mounting has been reduced by 4 mm, the rear shock has been reduced by 2 mm, and the suspension now has two 5 mm smaller link rods. As a result of these improvements, the motorcycle’s center of gravity has increased by 5 mm. What is the result? The bike drop is fast on them and up to the top. The angle of the force of the chain increases with a higher rear end, which results in an anti-squat effect and consequently increases the bike’s stability during acceleration.

Improved Bike Balance

The Panigale V4’s Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) is 43 mm in diameter and features fully adjusted spring preload, compression, and rebound damping. Chrome sliders with Brembo radial caliper mounting are housed in the fork body. The front-end cut is completed with a sex steering damper. A fully adjustable Sachs Shock Observer is mounted on the rear; one side is attached to the Desmosedici Stradale engine by a forged aluminum bracket.

Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2

The Ducati Traction Control EVO 2 (DTC EVO 2) method is derived from the Ducati Desmosedici GP18 and is already used on the Panigale V4 R and V4 R SBK. A new ‘predictive’ approach significantly enhances power control out of the corner, interacting with 6-axis interlocking platforms and modifying interference based on wheel spin and lean angle. It quickly prevents grip damage and reduces peak wheel spin, providing fast, smooth interference. It works not only on the quick rear wheel spin but also on its fluctuations. It translates to increased off-corner stability (even in low-grip conditions), faster speeds, faster lap times, and more extended running performance.
