It’s time to turn every bump into a podium with a street bike worthy of the Grand Prix. The 2020 CBR500R Honda Sports Bike is the ideal blend of performance, adaptability, and affordability. It has an always-reliable 471cc twin-cylinder motor, a steel tube frame, programed fuel injectors, aggressive super sport appearance and more. Every ride on the Honda CBR500R will make you feel like you’re in the winners’ circle because to its compact size and responsiveness.
The CBR500R from Honda is all about harmony. Riders moving up from smaller machines and those wishing to downsize without sacrificing performance and style have long anticipated this model’s arrival. It attacks a delicate balance between performance and reasonable operating costs, making it a popular choice for both. From everyday commuting to weekend trips, the fully faired CBR500R can do it all thanks to its athletic looks and approachable performance.
2020 CBR500R Honda Sports Bike – Features and Price
Styling
Straight, wedge-like feature lines and expanded lower fairings highlight a true sensation of speed on the fully faired CBR500R. In order to enhance the rider’s comfort and mobility, all of the top and side fairings, as well as the seat pad, are small. The all-LED appearance is completed by the car’s menacingly sculpted twin LED headlights.
It’s hard not to become giddy while looking ahead from the CBR500R’s driver’s seat. As a consequence of the lower fairing and clip-on handlebars, a sporty riding posture is created, and the notion of “Total Control,” which is at the core of Honda’s CBR line’s aesthetic, is given full effect.
Gear Position and Shift Up indicators are shown on the LCD instruments; this is set to a default 8,750 rpm but may be modified in 250 rpm increments between 5,000 and 8,750 rpm.
Chassis
There is a tuned yield in the 35mm steel diamond-tube mainframe that provides the rider with a great feeling when the road surface changes—the engine mounts and the frame’s stiffness balance help keep vibrations to a minimum.
To achieve agility and stability, the engine is located close to the swingarm’s pivot point, while the weight of the front and rear wheels is evenly distributed. The ABS variant has a weight of 423 pounds on the hood (measured with fluids). The CBR500R’s low seat height of 30.9 inches makes it a breeze to ride for riders of all sizes, even those with long legs.
There’s an excellent front-end feel thanks to the fork’s 41mm telescopic length. To achieve the best possible suspension response and temperature control, a single-tube rear shock (such as the type found on larger capacity sport bikes) is used. With a nine-stage preload adjustment and a steel swingarm with pressed-steel chain-adjustment endpieces, this spring preloaded is very versatile. The hollow cross-section Y-shaped spokes on these 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels make them extremely lightweight.
Engine
Liquid-cooled parallel twins with eight valves per cylinder power the CBR500R, which has a lively, high-revving nature and capable top-end performance. This vehicle’s quick acceleration results from a well-tuned engine that generates maximum torque from 3,500 to 7,500 rpm.
Flowing air via the airbox and throttle bodies is the primary means of supplying air to the PGM-FI fuel injection system. The exhaust muffler incorporates two exit pipes, which give it a livelier sound, and the battery is placed further from the back of the airbox intake duct to allow for more airflow. Peak power and maximum torque are achieved at 8,500 and 7,000 rpm, respectively.
A crucial main couple-balancer is positioned just in front of the cylinder heads. Scissor gears are used in the balancer and primary gears, which reduces noise. The engine’s crank counterweight is designed for couple-balance and is light to enable unfettered rotation and lower inertia in the engine.
Four frame hangers on the engine’s cylinder head contribute to the stiffness of the chassis. Its roller-rocker arms and shim-type valve adjustment enable the cylinder head to be light, resulting in lower valve-spring loads and less friction. The pins of a Vanadium-treated quiet cam chain have reduced friction and higher wear resistance.
The gear-change arm construction and link mechanism of the six-speed transmission is identical to the RR. The lighter upshifts and smoother downshifts are made possible by an assist/slipper clutch.
