Significantly Enhanced Fuel Economy
Behind the appearance of the 1200cc Thruxton spec engine is a sophisticated liquid cooling system that has been carefully developed to minimize its visual effect while providing lower emissions and improved fuel economy – 11% better than the previous generation. When combined with a new longer service interval of 10,000 miles (16,000km), the total ownership cost decreases.
Thrilling 1200cc Engine
The 1200cc, high-power, 8-valve parallel-twin engine brings the Thruxton’s iconic character to life. The Thruxton and Thruxton R’s ‘low inertia – high performance’ six-speed engine has a lighter crank and airbox. The Thruxton spec engine provides a massive peak torque figure of 112Nm at a low 4950 rpm – an astounding 62 percent more than the previous generation – thanks to the pinpoint accuracy and instantaneous throttle response Triumph’s next generation ride-by-wire fuel-injection, fed by authentic twin throttle bodies. The new 1200cc Thruxton offers substantially more power lower down and over the whole rev range, with an impressive 68 percent more power at 4,500rpm, 41 percent more than the previous model’s engine.
Beautiful Style and Sound
The Thruxton 1200cc high power engine is beautifully crafted with a high degree of finish and quality, including aesthetic elements from the Thruxton Bonneville while incorporating current engine components to keep that original appearance.
With all upswept reverse megaphone exhausts, this British racing twin has the exhilarating sound of a British racing twin, with a deep and raw tone to match its renowned reputation.
Beautiful Detailing
Both bikes include a one-of-a-kind gasoline tank with a flip-up ‘Monza’ cap (a first on any current production cycle), bullet seat, and lightweight aluminum bar end mirrors, wheel rims, and swinging arm. A painted seat cowl, polished top yoke, tank strap, and clear anodized aluminum swinging arm are all included on the Thruxton R. The Thruxton comes in three colors: Jet Black, Pure White, or Competition Green, while the Thruxton R comes in three colors: Diablo Red, Silver Frost, and Matt Black.
Beautifully Aggressive Styling
The Thruxton and Thruxton R have all of the brooding presence and elegance of the original Triumph racers, elevating the contemporary classic sports bike to new heights. The Thruxton and Thruxton R established a new standard by combining superbly crisp and intimidating appearance with many high-quality features, such as a thin, contoured gas tank, a single-seat set-up, and a distinctive flip-up ‘Monza’ cap.
LED Rear Light
The LED rear light, integrated into the classically inspired and attractive tail set-up, creates a unique rear light pattern while saving energy.
Engine Immobilizer
A security feature incorporates a transponder into the Thruxton key. It connects it to a receiver in the ignition system, avoiding the engine from starting if the correct key is not used.
USB Charging Socket
You can charge your critical gadgets with a USB port beneath your seat.
ABS
Triumph’s anti-lock braking technology, the current safety standard, gives the Thruxton and Thruxton R the most significant degree of control.
Ride-By-Wire
The electrical ride-by-wire technology on the Thruxtons improves throttle control, reactivity, safety, and overall feel.
Riding Modes
The three selectable Mode choices ‘road, rain, and sport’ are linked to the ride-by-wire system and give the rider better control and safety, with the ‘sport’ mode providing an even more quick reaction.
Traction Control
The Thruxton and Thruxton R have a switchable traction control system that optimizes the distribution of its excellent torque, using advanced ride-by-wire technology.
Torque Assist Clutch
The torque-assist clutch technology on the Thruxton and Thruxton R adds a light touch and feel to the clutch control, making it easier to ride and ride longer.
Fingertip Controls
For fast access to the essential elements on the digital clocks, the Thruxton and Thruxton R switchgear has a humble fingertip control scroll button.
Twin Feature Clocks
Beautiful 3D dial faces brilliantly incorporate a digital menu system accessed by a handlebar-mounted scroll button in this stylish feature-packed dual clock (speedo and rev counter). Gear position indicator, two trip settings, odometer, service indication, range to empty, fuel level, average and current MPG, clock, ability to switch off traction control, and ABS functions are just a few of the highlights.
Led Drl Headlight
The Thruxton and Thruxton R headlights are a new modern standard that combines the most recent LED daytime running lights (DRL), which give a unique characteristic light pattern and improved power economy for long-term durability.
Higher Specification Thruxton R
With a more concentrated riding posture, a kicked-up rear end, smaller diameter grips, and a very high specification of equipment all around, the Thruxton R takes riding potential to the next level. Brembo monobloc brakes and master cylinder, Showa USD forks, Ohlins rear suspension, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires are among the features.
Dynamic Handling
The Thruxton chassis and suspension are all about precise handling that lives up to its café racer appearance. The Thruxton blends Triumph’s hallmark ride dynamics of neutrality, agility, and stability with sporty ergonomics, clip-on bars, uprated fully adjustable suspension, and a 17-inch front wheel for outstanding handling and agility.
