The Original Scramblers & Genesis for Today’s Scrambler Scene

The new Scrambler 1200 line-up is descended from an unrivaled bloodline that can be traced back to the early 1950s Scrambler scene when Triumph played an essential part and established the standard for what made a scrambler spectacular. Triumphs were the first and actual desert sleds, building the top motorcycles of the day, stripped down with straight-through ‘twin pipes’ fitted high or low slung and cut off. With the Bonneville T-120TT and TR6’SC’, the world’s first production scramblers were born.

These were the motorcycles that Steve McQueen rode in the desert, that Bud Ekins raced in the dirt and won, and that participated in one of the most challenging desert races of all time, the Baja 1000. Triumph launched the first modern age’ Scrambler in 2006, heralding the birth of a new category once again. It sparked the contemporary world of Scramblers, as well as a whole new worldwide fan base, ranging from street riders to movie stars, all smitten by the famous Triumph scrambler style and timeless design.

Two Benchmark Setting New Scrambler 1200s

The Triumph Scrambler 1200 lineup includes two all-new versions. The range-topping Scrambler 1200 XE, which takes the specification to the maximum level and its off-road prowess and scrambling credentials to the very top of the motorcycling world, and the Scrambler 1200 XC, which is designed for the road and true off-road riding enjoyment.

Thrilling Performance

The newest generation Bonneville High Power 1200cc engine in both new Scramblers delivers category-leading torque and a dedicated scrambler tune.’ The sleek six-speed transmission provides smooth, linear power thanks to the distinctive 270° firing interval.

The 1200 engine, which was developed mainly for the Scrambler, produces 90 PS @ 7,400 rpm, which is 12.5 percent more power than the Bonneville T120 and 38 percent more than the 2019 Street Scrambler.

The Scrambler 1200 engine unit is also geared to offer ‘high torque’ off-road and on, low and mid-range, with peak torque of 110Nm at only 3,950 rpm. It is also 37.5 percent more than the Street Scrambler.

A finely built dual high-level exhaust system with stainless steel headers and brushed stainless steel silencers deliver the Scrambler soundtrack for a deep, punchy scrambler sound.

The Scrambler 1200 engine, like the rest of the new generation Bonneville, offers superior contemporary classic capabilities with ride-by-wire and a sensitively fitted liquid cooling system for improved performance and cleaner, more fuel-efficient riding.

The first major service interval on both Scrambler 1200 variants is 10,000 miles/16,000 kilometers.

Ignition without a key Both models come standard with Triumph’s key-less ignition system. The system detects the proximity of the keyless fob and then turns on the engine using the start button on the switch cube. For even more security, the key’s wireless transmission function can be turned off with the touch of a button.

Grips that are heated The Scrambler 1200 XE has heated grips as standard, and the Scrambler 1200 XC has heated grips as an option. With two modes, these are neatly integrated with a button on the left handgrip for greater rider comfort.

Cruise control is an impressive feature that allows you to drive Both Scrambler models to come standard with electronic cruise control. This single-button system is installed in the switch cube on the left side. For maximum convenience and safety, this feature can be accessed while riding.

Charging via USB Both of the new Scramblers have a 5-volt USB power outlet for charging personal devices. It is built into a fresh foam-lined storage compartment beneath the seat.
