The weather has played a much important role whenever the Dakar Rally move from Africa to South America. In this 2018 Dakar Race, the weather has again affected the race. With rain and flooding, it has created many difficulties for the riders and the organizers elected to have all participant take the highway from Tupize, Bolivia to the next bivouac in Salta, Argentina.
